    McBrawl Moderator Application:

Are you active and helpful on our servers, forums, and Teamspeak?-

I am very active on Mc-War and I try my best to help those who are new to the server, those who are confused on how to buy guns or shoot etc. I try to respond to every question I am asked within my knowledge.
I consider my self active on the forums with 260+ messages, but for me its the quality that counts not the quantity like @Pikmin_Hunter always says. I try to make sure that most of my comments on some threads are helpful and i'm always free to pm if someone has a question, but some one personal messaging me for help is rare as these sort of stuff are asked to mods+.
I consider my self fairly active on TS. When get on TS, I am always trying my best to stay on for a long period of time. This consists between 2-5 hours, sometimes even longer. The majority of the time I am on public channels so anyones free to ask me questions.
Some might not see me on TS a lot as this can be due to different timezones. In my household, there is 1 laptop and a normal computer. My brother and I are usually the ones on these but on the computer the mic does not work for TS but on the laptop it does. So sometimes I will only be writing in chat but most of the time I will be able to talk due to my brother using the computer more often.
Luckily, my school does longer holidays than most schools in England so I end up starting my holidays early and finishing later than everyone else, so during these holidays I will always be on the server/TS/forums.

Approximately, how many rule breaker reports have you submitted? -

I do not have count on how many rule breakers I have reported, all I remember is that I have reported a few but not a lot. I try to report people who are using hacked clients or OOM.

    How old are you? -

I am currently 15 years of age. I will be 16 on the 17th of November.

What time zone are you in? -

I am in Greenwich Mean Time Zone (UTC+00:00)

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? -

At first I never knew there was a game called Minecraft until my brother showed me videos of the Yogscast. So I got addicted to their Jaffa cake factory videos and from there I had set my eyes on buying a Minecraft account and getting into Tekkit. My mum bought me the account as an early birthday present and I started playing on singleplayer as most new comers to MC do. Afterwards I went on a small Walls server. After some time I got into a creative server which I really miss, and started building all sorts of builds. I then came across a faction/survival server where I learn't a bunch about plugins and commands as I was friends with the Admin. After some time I took my knowledge from there and applied for staff and was accepted in a matter of 2 days. Just as I was about to get a promotion to become Admin, the server was closed due to the owner not being able to carry on paying the expenses.
My friend told me the server had moved to another fraction/survival server, I was very confused but joined the server. It wasn't as good as the old one but it was ok because all my friends were on it.

Then came the day! I got really bored and I joined a Skype call with some of my friends from the server, they were also bored and asked me if I wanted to come and play Mc-War with them. I had no idea what they were on about and questioned them, they said it was Call of Duty but in Minecraft and I said no. I was, well still am, terrible at Call of Duty and thought I would be worse in Minecraft but they forced me and I came on. Being a newbie and having a very old computer was not a great combo. Constant lag from the computer and I didn't know how to shoot or do anything. I remember my first games stats (1-12). I didn't like it because I was horrible at it and got off, the next day I came back on my own and tried again without people showing off with their stats In the Skype call. I was still bad but this time I asked for help from prestige people, later on to find out they were arrogant and would not reply to anything I asked them. Since then I have always been on Mc-War, wanting to push ahead and become better, maybe even part of the staff team.

I have had my MineCraft account since 3, November 2012.

What is your experience with moderating servers? -

I don't have a long history of my experience with moderating servers but I do have some.
I started of getting Mod on a creative server called McDreams, keeping in mind I had not applied. The Head-Admin saw me fit for the job and asked if I wanted to become Mod. After some time I was promoted to Admin, I loved being asked all the questions and being able to help everyone with either WorldEdit or general things they were just having trouble with, even if it was a problem that was not related to the game and was to do with outside issues. The server soon after closed down due to tons of hackers literally "taking over" as my friend said on the server. It was a very popular server with at least 80+ people on every day.

After the server closing down, that was the time I decided to play on survival servers. I found a server called ReclaimerCraft and it wasn't the most popular but it had such a welcoming community. I ended up being on there for a long time then finding out that they were looking for Staff, I quickly applied and I was accepted. As there were many griefer's I ended up being very busy rolling back everything to how it was before, and everyone had many questions for me to answer. Unfortunately, the server closed down due to the owner not being able to carry on paying the expenses. My friend (the admin on the server) told me that I was just about to get a promotion which I was happy about but sad that in the end I didn't get it.

Unfortunately, I do not have any screenshots from McDreams that proves I was a staff member as everything went to the bin along with my old computer.
As for ReclaimerCraft, I do not have any screenshots either but I could get you to talk to the server owner which he can approve that I was staff on his server. However he didn't really sort out the staff, he had left that job to the Head-Admin. If you would like to talk to both of them then I can arrange something.

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? -

As most of our War mods are from America, their timezones does not always suit ours in Europe. The time I am on, I rarely see War mods on. I start seeing Mods on the servers when it's quite late here in England. During that time when there's not much mods on war, I realise people feel the tendency to use excessive caps, spam, and be rude to one another, whether its by rage or natural hatred. If I was provided the moderator status I feel that I can enforce the rules in a respective manner to those who will not follow them. I will moderate on the server and TS when majority of our mods are in America and sometimes can not be on at the early time I am. I will do everything to the best of my abilities. I will not favourite a player just because their my friend and I will always try to keep everything in control and calm. I will try my best to catch hackers so I'll be recording every single second when I'm on the server if I get the mod status.
I will also be doing my best to answer any questions which are thrown at me as I've been doing ever since I've started playing the game.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? -

Yes, I'm not proud of this either. The reason for this being is because I was new to Minecraft and decided to find out what it feels like to use hacks so, I wanted to experience it. I installed the hacked client and somehow I managed to get it to work. But I never understood what some of the hacks do so I got bored with it and left it. All of that has gone to the bin with my old computer as I have started fresh. However if I must tell the truth (I know no one will probably believe this) my brother has got something called 'fullbright' on his laptop. He says it makes the game brighter so at night you will be able to see anything. I've asked him how to turn it off and he showed me so every time I play on his laptop I turn this off, and that is the only thing I know what to do with that, I do not know how to turn it back on as my understandings of using hacked clients are very low.

My understandings of using it may be low but detecting hacked clients I find easy. In a way it is also a good thing I have experienced this because I may find out easier than other people that someone may indeed be hacking.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? -

Yes I have, on a creative server my brother goes on. This is because my brother was complaining to me about a staff member abusing her powers. So I went on the server and saw the chat and everyone was complaining about her. As they have a 'Do not disrespect staff' rule no one was risking getting banned. I was the only one on who would say something as I do not go on that server and I only go on Brawl.
The staff member left the server then came back after some time and wrote "Ugh I hate you all" and afterwards, she started getting really rude to the players of the server. So I spoke up, saying you can't just be rude to everyone like that when its
    1. Against the rules
    2. You're a staff member!
She started being really rude to me and pleaded that she was "just doing her job" and then banned me from the server for "disrespecting staff"
The server also does not welcome other languages so from there you can see this is not a good server.
They don't just welcome it but apparently they don't like it either according to the owner of the server.

I've also been banned on Mc-Brawl but that I have evidence that it was not my fault.
    http://imgur.com/mkIExhB
Since then I have regained full access on my account, all details on the account have been edited and no one knows my password.
It all started when I did /hub and there was this person that somehow had tons of accounts spamming in chat at the same time. So I tried to get staff on but left a couple of minutes later because, I needed to help my mum. After awhile I came back to realise that I had been banned from Mc-Brawl, so I messaged Peas and he explained to me why I had been banned and told me to change my password.

How active do you consider yourself in-game? -

I consider myself extremely active in game, as Mc-War is a really fun server to be on, I am constantly on the server. During my school holidays I can be on for about 3-7 hours unless I have something planned for that day which might bring my activity on the server down for that day. On a scale of 1-10 (1 being the worst and 10 being the best) I would give myself an 8.

How active do you consider yourself on TS3? -

I consider my self fairly active because when I'm on TS, I stay on for a long time. I may not be seen on a lot by some but that may be due to timezones. I'm trying my best on TS and have reported a few people who have broken the TS rules to a Mod or Smod. If I got Mod, I would be on TS everyday, sorting out problems and reporting rule breakers, not to mention that I'll be always happy to answer any questions.
I always try to go to rooms which have a lot of people because thats most of the time where the rule breakers are, or if they are in private channels with an inappropriate channel name I get a Gmod+.

How active do you consider yourself on the forums? -

I consider myself really active on the forums with 260+ messages. I may not always have enough time to write a long detailed comment on some threads, so I just reply with a short comment or leave a rating. I always try my best with the way I structure my sentences making it so everyone can understand. If the person does not understand I try to restructure my answer in more detail. I'm always free to PM on TS or the forums or in-game.

What do you consider your greatest strength? -

I consider my in-game activity the greatest strength this due to me always being on the server and being able to answer questions and help people. But I also feel that my kindness is also part of my strength because if it wasn't for my kindness I wouldn't be helping people or answering any queries.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? -

I consider my greatest weakness my TS activity. I may not look too active to some (again, maybe timezones) but for those who believe I'm not active enough I promise I will do everything to the best of my abilities. I will always be on TS if I got Mod, I am always on the forums so most of the time, people pm on here rather than TS.

How would you handle someone making a minor transgression for the first time? -

I would give the rule breaker a warning, explaining to him/her what rule she has broken and recite the overall rules to her. I would make sure that I approach the situation positively and end it on a positive note so the matter does not occur again.

How would you handle the same person doing it again a second time? -

I would PM the rule breaker trying to understand why she/he is acting like this and why he/she is not following the rules. I would ask again if they could stop doing what they are doing and be nice and calm. If the player carries on being rude while I try to understand him/her then I will kick the player, so he/she understands that there will be consequences to their actions.

How would you handle that person doing it again for the third time?-

Depending on the seriousness of the situation I would kick the player. If its something to be concerned about and the player just shows signs of no regret to his/her actions, I would report to a higher staff member and provide full evidence on my reasoning to why they should be banned. If the higher staff member agrees with me I will issue a temporary ban.

If the situation is to do with ddos/ddox threats I will warn the player that this is not allowed then afterwards kicking them if they ddos/ddox threat anyone else. If they continue I will hand the situation over to a higher staff member.

What is your reaction if someone publicly proves you wrong on the forums? -

If I was proven wrong on the forums/ts/in-game I would thank the person for correcting me and edit my post. I would apologise for not knowing the correct answer and carry on, as they say you learn something every day, no one's perfect in this world.

What would you do when someone breaks a rule on the forums? -

I would PM the person to look over their actions and see if they think they were right or wrong in doing what they did. I would provide them with a link to the forum rules and I would tell them not to repeat the same actions again otherwise actions could be taken against them.

When would you lock a thread? -

I would only lock a thread when there are one of the following that occurs:

    • Grave digging
    • Gradually getting off-topic
    • Requested lock by the person who created the thread.
    • Offensive in any way
    • Encourages anything violent
    • Spam or a duplicate
    • A flame war
    • Same question has been answered in another thread.(Link will be provided)
    • Personal information exposed eg. Account passwords

    Describe yourself in 3 words:

    Trustworthy, Helpful, Talkative

Anything else we should know about you? -

I am a 15 year old girl (nearly 16) who's voice sounds like a 5 year old when talked to on the phone or Skype. I love kittens because they are adorable and tiny. I love playing football (soccer), tennis, badminton, table tennis, dodgeball, hockey and I love swimming. My family is Turkish so I speak fluent Turkish and I know a little bit of German and French (not a lot, more French than German though.) I tend to trust some people too much and it sometimes stabs me in the back. I love younger kids as long as their not rude and are polite and I live in London. My primary teacher always told me that I use too many "ands" in my sentences, I'm sorry if I've used tons..
I think that's all I have to say about me but, If you have any questions I'm free to PM in-game, TS or the forums. (Sorry if I forgot to capitalise some of my I's)

Situation: A player is out of the map on MC-WAR. What are the steps that you would take to ensure that this player and situation is properly dealt with? -

I would tell the player that it is against the rules to be OOM and that they should get back into the map before actions are taken against them. If they reply with "I don't know how to get back in"
I will tell them to either break a block (whether this being a sand block or gravel etc) or doing /spawn.
If they do not get back into the map, I will issue another warning but with a more demanding and strict tone.
If they fail to comply, I will take screenshots as evidence that they are OOM (then report them) and I will have no choice but to kick them. I would also take screenshots of the OOM spot and report it so it can be covered up.

Do you generally know how all the plugins and commands work? -

I know how the majority of the plugins and commands work due to me being an active member for a very long time on the server. The commands I do not know, I will use my time to learn them.

Do you realize that if you are disrespectful or abuse your power, your power will be taken away? -

I understand that if I abuse any of my powers, my Moderator status will be taken away from me and that it is highly unlikely that I will get it back.

*Note*: For those who think I left gaps just to make my app look longer then you are wrong. I was not even thinking like this until a couple of people asked me why I did it. I only did this because it makes the application look smarter and in a better layout, so basically it looks organised.
    Thanks for reading my application.

Good application Sweetlava, but you don't have 300+ posts, you are close but you don't have it, that isn't too big though. Next I rarely see you on ts3, it's only the occasion that I do. Overall I'm not sure what to say.

Hey Lava! Nice application, and when I say nice, I mean nice application. Regarding forums, I don't see that as much of a problem considering I applied with much less posts, and the count doesn't necessarily mean you aren't helpful. After looking through some of your posts, I see that you don't just do simple posts and that all of yours are usually helpful and not simple things in clan threads. I have started seeing you on TeamSpeak consistently, and it looks as if your activity is rising. Back when I played War, I would see you on most every time I joined so that's good in activity. From what else I've seen, you're mature in every part, and I don't think there is another person more suitable for the job than you. Best of luck, you have my

The app is really good. And although you don't have a lot of forums posts, it's like you said in your application: quality is more important than quantity. I see you on mcwar and teamspeak often, so you're getting a +1 from me. Good luck.

Although you don't post a lot like others are saying, what you do post is always helpful and insightful. You are active in-game and on TS. What I love about your character is you actually talk to players in-chat. +1!

    @SweetLava,
What to say? You wrote a great application. Long, good answered and with a lot of information in it. Your amount of forum post is a bit low, but your recent activity goes up really fast. I see you a lot on teamspeak and on the server you're activity is rising too.
I remember the days where I used to look up to you as a mcwar player, I didn't see you much on and it's great to see you more active again.
I hope to see you later, as a moderator.

Aw thanks so much king. The reason i took a break was because i had too many exams and revisions during that point. I've started everything early (my exams) so my mum (really strict) wanted me to revise otherwise she would also make me revise in the summer holiday. I guess tables have turned, now i look up to you
    Thanks for your comment
