    McBrawl Moderator Application: FpsHg

Are you active and helpful on our servers, forums, and Teamspeak? - I am active in each of these three areas. I first started out with in-game activity when I first join the server a little over a year ago. Gaming quite roughly on Mc-War winning the crossbow contest until FpsHg hit the servers in all its glory. A while later I joined starting my forum activity when I became the 419th member. I check out the forums every single day, trying to add my input whenever I feel it is prudent. Last month, July 31st, I started my Teamspeak activity. At the time this application will be posted I will have been online for a month and one day. Logging on every day I got the chance to meet some fantastic and heartwarming people, you know who you are. After this day I will continue to grow in these three areas, hopefully meeting and helping new friends along the way.

Approximately, how many rule breaker reports have you submitted? - I am not exactly sure how many I have reported over my time being here. I do know that it is over eight, since I have video proof of eight individual players. I do and will submit player reports until the end of my time here.

How old are you? - I am currently 18 years of age.

What time zone are you in? - ET
What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? - For this inquiry I must reach into the depths of my memory to remember the great and wonderful, first play. For attention and audience sake I shall keep this as brief as possible. When Minecraft aired in the month of May in 2009, I was immediately on top of this bizarre indie game. I played day in and day out, as most do. I can remember getting excited when word spread that a new update was coming. Back when an update was a common sight, I would study and learn the new content daily. It was always a great part of my day. Learning something new about the game, which I enjoy. More recently I had been getting into mod packs. I always wanted to use them back in the day, but they made it so darn complicated. I never gave up and I was stunned and grateful when I learned how to install one. I have played on many single and multiplayer worlds. Learning something new on each of them. Since Minecraft is an ever growing game I foresee learning even more in times to come.

What is your experience with moderating servers? - A while back I took a mini break from McBrawl to answer this very question. I have moderated a SAO Minecraft server, proof of administration. My boss over there has complimented me on my tenacity to get a job done correctly (If the administrators would like proof I can Pm his username. I would not want his Skype known to everyone.) Moderating is no small task when you are faced with it day after day. Sometimes you have to answer a lot of questions. The questions may be the exact same ones, over and over, or truly complicated. Yet I still answer them to the best of my abilities, without regret towards my task. In the chance I do not know the answer I will always go above and beyond to find the correct answer the player deserves. A lot of patience and authority is involved which I have learned to use fully to delegate a server. After some time moderating that server the owner and co-owner split ways. I went with the co-owner and together with some other staff members we started to recreate the SAO server. Currently I administrate the server. We are doing week long testing sessions for the server to prepare it for beta release. During this time I help fix any bugs that come up, sort the player permissions out, and do anything else the owner needs. When we are not in a testing phase I normally do anything the owner needs. Ranging from placing mobs for the server, building builds, designing quests, help fix errors, and work on the forum. Other tasks I do include, but are not limited to judging applications, managing staff, answering player questions, and preparing next week's public testing.

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? - I am a lover and a helper. I love this community to the point where I want to help it out even more so than I am doing now. Being a player is great. I can help out players, find glitches, participate in events that staff throw out there. However, if I were a moderator I would help out in other areas. Such as helping the coders in any testing situation, adding to the wiki, cleansing the chat, and settle issues on the forums. And of course, I would take part in making the server more enjoyable for others.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? - Two years ago I used to game with a friend of mine. He suggested I use Nodus with him. Being a stickler to the rules I check to see if Nodus was allowed on the particular server later that night. The server rules did not mention anything regarding it being restricted. Being great friends with him at the time I thought nothing of it and gave the client a go. We gamed on that server for a while using the client. I was never particularly fond of it, I just thought it was something you could use to enhance the game. After a couple months we stopped gaming together and equally I stopped using the client. Only until I joined a different community, did I read and figure out that Nodus and other clients of the same nature were in fact illegal. Ever since that evening I have not used a hacked client.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? - Ever server or community I join I get acquainted with the rules and regulations. So I may follow them and not get in trouble with the higher ups. The end result of this is throughout my entire time on Minecraft I have never once been banned from a server.

How active do you consider yourself in-game? - I am active in-game. I log into the servers at least once a day. To game with friends, new and old. Throughout the week I am on each day for a few hours. Mostly playing on FpsHg, however If anyone on TeamsSpeak wants to play another McBrawl I gladly join them. Weekends can be a hit or miss with me. Sometimes I will be able to game online for a longer period of time. On the other hand I sometimes have different outside obligations to attend to, but normally I still get during the weekend.
    "very very active" -cuddlemonster09 2014

How active do you consider yourself on TS3? - I am active on Ts3. Last month I set out to start my Teamspeak history. I have logged online for thirty-two consecutive days, making some great new friends along the way. I am usually in the lobby if I am working on something, but other than that I will be in the channel of the server I am gaming on. When friends come online we usually create a channel and hash it out there. I enjoy meeting new people and helping them out if they have any inquires. I enjoy coming online and chatting will everyone and am there to help settle issues if any arise.

How active do you consider yourself on the forums? - I am active on the forums. My ~2,200 posts and ~110 threads are a result my will to contribute and review the forums every day at least five times or more. I make sure to read the latest threads and comment on what I feel warrants my opinion. If there are no more new threads I find myself checking out recent posts. So that I can either engage in a conversation to help the topic along or simple find out someone's opinion. I enjoy my time on the forums and I feel the community does to since my ratings are rather positive.

What do you consider your greatest strength? - My greatest strength has to be my ability to keep a cool and level head. As many players, new or old, can attest to, I do not or rather never get upset. Wielding this trait means that if a situation is getting heated or out of control I will always be acting in a unbiased equal manner. One of my favorite quotes from the Good Book would have to be Proverbs 15:18 “a hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but the slow to anger pacifies contention.”

What do you consider your greatest weakness? - My greatest weakness has to be my lack of knowledge. Meaning sometimes a situation will arise and I will not know the answer or how to go about handling it. This does not mean I am completely inept at figuring something out. In fact I will go out of my way to get the correct steps in solving the problem. In the meantime I will apply any knowledge I have to the given situation until I can learn exactly how to answer or solve the problem later. Yes, I learn fast and can adapt to most situations, but if I do not know something I have to learn it just like everyone else.

How would you handle someone making a minor transgression for the first time? - First I would kindly ask the person to stop what they are doing. Along the way I would educate them on what they are doing and why it is wrong to do.

How would you handle the same person doing it again a second time? - Everyone deserves a second chance. Thinking in this manner means I would authoritatively send them a private message warning them to halt all transgressions or I would be forced to kick them from the server if they did not yield immediately.

How would you handle that person doing it again for the third time? - Since the perpetrator did not take my warnings to heart I would simply kick them from the server. I would also utilize the reason part of /kick, stating what they did wrong again.

What is your reaction if someone publicly proves you wrong on the forums? - I stay calm and collected. I will not lash out in anger or try to get even with the person(s) that proved me wrong. Then I would apologizes for my misinformation and learn from the mistake I had made. Taking what I learned that day I would put it to good use for the future, to not make the same mistake twice.

What would you do when someone breaks a rule on the forums? - I would reply to their post that had the misdemeanor informing them they are breaking the rules and that they need to stop. I would also send them a private message giving them evidence of why what they were doing was not tolerated and would let them know that higher staff would get involved if this did not stop.

When would you lock a thread? - A thread lock would require one of these things to occur: The thread derailing from the main topic(s), the inquiry/subject(s) concludes effectively, users starting to lash out against one another (after trying to calm the people), the thread became grave-dug, an owner requesting one, a duplicated thread was posted, and or if a thread displayed pornographic content. In that case I would demand the immediate deletion of the thread.

Describe yourself in 3 words: Chipper, diligent, and tenacious.

Anything else we should know about you? - The only thing left would be that I appreciate the servers you produce and I enjoy spending my time here. I am glad to have this opportunity to put forth an application in the hopes of getting hired. In the end, if I get the job I thank you. I look forward to working with you, the staff, and the community more closely. If I do not get the position all is well and I thank you all the same.

Situation: A player is out of the map on FpsHg. What are the steps that you would take to ensure that this player and situation is properly dealt with? - I am familiar with most ways to get out of a map. Some methods are simple, others involve a glitch, and a few are inescapable glitches that happen to the player without their consent. Step one, I would inform the player to come back into the map. Step two, I would private message the person to return to the map. Step three, I would kick the person since then did not listen. Step four variable, if the player cannot get out of the map due to an unintentional glitch I would ask them to show me where it happened. Step five variable, I would go to the forums to double check if this was in fact a glitch you cannot avoid that I did not know about. Step six variable, I would then let the player know it is alright and inform them that they can either log out or wait for deathmatch.

Do you generally know how all the plugins and commands work? - Yes, I understand Minecraft commands, FpsHg's commands, DisguiseCraft, NoCheatPlus, PermissionsEx, and Orange451's PVPGunPlus plugin (back when you could get his version.)

Do you realize that if you are disrespectful or abuse your power, your power will be taken away? - Yes, indeed I do.

Very nice application. Your forum activity is fantastic and your posts are detailed. You are mature and kind to the members of the forums. I have never played with you on fpsHG so I can't judge your activity, however I have heard that you are extremely active. I don't see you on TS very much. This is probably due to timezone changes.
    Good luck!
