This is getting ridiculous, random people will start getting mod if we don't stop this.

    Way to get mod now
The only way to get mod on this server is either be @Pikmin_Hunter or be on ts3 24/7
The people who are mod always try to be on ts3 and to chat with putty or some other admins so the admins like them, then the admins up vote them on their application. Also, how are you going to help people on ts3 anyways? The people who need help are INGAME not on ts3! Even if your the most active person on the server you probably won't get mod because someone is talking with putty on ts3.

Now for an add on to @Mokolee
He's right guys, there is something wrong, and the admins and mods SKIM through basically the whole application and look at the few questions that matter, so even if I am the nicest person on the server I will get denied because I slack of on the application only intended to make the people getting mod look good.

    Here's the Fix
Now that a lot of new people are getting mod that a lot of people disagree is wrong, I suggest one thing
Getting rid of staff applications altogether, then the admins can decide, and in a PM or something and the would tell them they want the player to be a mod. The players would decide who would get mod because they would see them on the forums and Ingame they would get some love and the admins would see that. Also there wouldn't be 50 people asking for mod in blank applications,

    Thanks for reading.

Its difficult to monitor over 1k players on average and see which one is most qualified for mod.

True, but it is easy to moderate the forums.

one thing i find sad... is that some people who have been online for a long time on both forums/servers and are very liked get denied just because of their ts3 activity, IMO ts3 is not really THAT important, and many of the staff have skype. and if that does not work... EVERY STAFF MEMBER HAS A FORUM ACCOUNT, here is what i think a mod application needs to have.

    overall activity=most important
amount of hours on the server=important
    amount of hours/posts/positives on forums=important.
then reporting= important but not as much as the others.
ts3= is not important if you have a skype account.

do know that this is MY opinion and i can agree with so much of this :V

Teamspeak is an important aspect of becoming a moderator, Pikmin already has a 900/100 chance of becoming moderator again at wish. To be completely honest with people, I have no clue why specknav was ever accepted, the only reason I could note was that he was in Teamspeak a lot. For example Tuggers, he was a very liked member compared to specknav. I don't have anything against specknav but his past still impacted many members till today.

The admins wouldn't know if the player was interested in a staff position or not. I think the staff application system is fine as is.

I'm saying that it's wrong that teamspeak is the best way, and most of the time the only way to get mod.

This is an idea I have also had myself over the past few weeks. I am not sure if I plan on fully introducing it yet.
However, we are going to start selecting members of the community (who we feel are ready for moderator) to take part in a Staff Interview if they agree to it without actually applying for moderator.

Feel free to comment / PM me with any ideas / suggestions you have regarding this.

That sounds like a good idea to me. I would recommend taking into consideration the amount of posts they report. However, I wouldn't like it if staff applications were removed completely.

Edit : I have something else to add to this. Would moderators be able to nominate players for an interview?

An idea I think would be nice is to make a staff application ticket, with only 2 or 3 questions from the mod app. That way based on how well someone answers that question, they can just move on to the selection process. Many people are unsure on applying, a small reminder such as a ticket would maybe attract the staff's attention.

Another note on Staff - We are going to start tracking the exact amount of time our Staff are spending on the server they are moderator on, and the other McBrawl servers. This will help us get an accurate measurment of how active our staff are in-game.

Here is a small example of my rough idea. Perhaps the staff can implement it with those "more important questions".

    McBrawl Moderator Ticket:

    How old are you? -

How active do you consider yourself in-game? (Please explain in moderate detail) -

How active do you consider yourself on TS3? (Please explain in moderate detail) -

How active do you consider yourself on the forums? (Please explain in moderate detail) -

The only reason I suggest this is because there are plenty of people who were and are more than qualified for moderator, but didn't want it, and there are even people who the staff may favor that the community hates (LuckyPop). That is why the Poll would be a small hint to the staff of what the community thinks of that member.

    They would not.
It would be kinda bias to have a bunch of mods nominate their friend.

The only flaw I see with this idea is that if a player is nice to admins on Ts3 and normal on the forums they will probably get mod without any input from the community. They might just be one of those players who only have respect for people with more power then them.

I think this is a great idea for a couple of reasons:
    1. Not everyone can have ts3 (I cant)
    2. Even though having a few more active mods is good too many isnt
    3. If everyone can apply for mod too many people are gonna try to steal other people's credit for good builds by posting them instead of their own

We still require applicants to do a Teamspeak interview with the admins.

Actually, I really like the idea of staff picking candidates to be moderators. The only thing I see with that is that this is a pretty big community, and there might be some people who want the chance to be staff but never get a chance to apply.

Overall, I still like it better than people applying.
