I would suggest that it does, but allow there to be some time before you reset it to allow play to decide what they would like to keep.
It would allow more materials to go into circulation, and more structures. The torn up current map may like it.

 

This would be a great addition to PVP. It would make people want to stay longer, and it would possibly attract old members again.

 

New map but players can keep 1/10 of the gold they have. And can transfer over 3 items of there choice.

 

New map sounds like a good idea, but as lucky said, let everyone keep 1/10 of their gold and maybe the stuff they can put in one enderchest.
If the players loose everything many will propably ragequit, and the server woule be a somewhat dead place.

 

I agree with roke. Enderchest and your gold. I would be happy with that.

 

I am all for the new mechanics that will arrive in a map reset. I think the general concern people will have is:
1.) Can I keep my items?
2.) Can I keep my gold?

 

I don't really mind if we get to keep our stuff, but I do want the map reset.

 

I beleive that a map reset would be great! An addition to the map reset though, since so many players already started playing on pvp survival and have gathered materials just when 1.8 comes up (possible map reset) this would mean that the new players will lose ALL their items. I highly recommend letting every player take 1 whole inventory worth of stuff that they want that they own and transfer it to the new map. About the gold for the shop, I believe that each player's money should be all transfered as well since there are a few hard working players who work their minecraft lives up just to mine ores because if there is a possible reset, alot of players will not want to join anymore because of their frustration of going through so much work mining, pvping, and even saving up their materials.

 

Yus, I believe that this will be great to start all over again.

 

The one change that won me over was the underwater temples being created.
As said before, since this is such a minor change allow players to keep something.
Gold, echest seems good.

 

I would be upset to lose stuff. This is kindof a mixed feeling for me to be honest, I'm not quite sure of the stuff that could happen.

 

In addition to the new map, it would be great to have enderchests available as players need somewhere safe to put their things. im sure everyone has more than 27 important items so an enderchest wouldnt hurt. (remember not to put one at spawn as players can run into spawn after losing their pvp protection and putting their important goods inside the chest)

Same... I'm probably one of the richest on this map. and now everything resetting I dont know... I might be quiting

 

I mean, i just got raided and got back up on my feet again. An Echest wouldnt be enough to hold all the stuff I'd like to keep, to be honest..

 

So for the good will of noobs and giving everyone else a chance your gonna knock out all the big people and make them start again?

People like me and frost have worked really hard on this server, to get to the level we are at. And then when we get to a high point we are going to have everything taken off us...

I have 4 double chests full of diamond armor... If I lose that I'm gonna be pissed! This map reset is only gonna help people that are new or people who have been raided... And it will piss of a lot of people who aren't warned about it or who are just completely against it!

To fix this you should at least give everyone like 4 double chests to store stuff

I have lots of loot that I want to keep, and I'd be really frustrated if I lost it all. I do want the map to reset but I don't want to lose everything. I would suggest letting us keep at least 8 double chests with our loot to fix the problem and a whole inventory full too.

 

If this happens do we keep inventory items?
