Regarding the chat hack...

    It's been an issue now how DDoS threats are not accepted in rule breaker reports because of a new hack client that spams messages in the chat, said in the correct format by online players. However, I have seen this in action [I'll post the screenshots when I can) and I noticed that it ignores name colors when forging messages.
    Just pointing this out for if anyone give you a threat, check to see if their name has color in the "tab" menu. If it does, and in chat it does, it's legit. Screenshot it and report it. If it doesn't, it's a fake, and you can safely ignore it c:
    Also, I wanna point this out to @Giggadream, the new ban monkey, so he can test legitimacy of DDoS threat reports.

    Just like Gigga said, I could easily hold tab (to show color), then use the 'eye-dropper' and paint over the name. Good thought, though.

    I remember this used to happen on Phinary's server, there's nothing you can really so about the enormous amount of spam besides ignoring it or muting the chat. If you wanna ban them all, go right ahead and waste your time :\

    This was part of an old conversation I sent to chickenputty regarding the hacked client that fakes chat messages. As far as I know, the client is currently discontinued, and is no longer being made up to date, and can be considered officially out of date as of Minecraft 1.8.

    Just some info I wanted to get out there.

    Ddos threats are actually accepted believe it or not. Putty just has to check up the server chat history to confirm the report.

    I don't know wether to say: Great, now I know how to tell if people are using chat hacks. Or: Great, now a lot more people know how to frame people using chat hacks...

    Didn't even know a hacked client existed for that, oh well let's hope not too many of the users know how to properly use it
    McBrawl is still compatible for 1.7 versions :/
