I think you should just update the server and make a new spawn no reset (peeps gonna get pissed).

Id like to add; currently i haven't seen much players on the server and this is probably due to the update of 1.8. I think the idea of whether we are having 1 inventory worth of items moved should be quickly decided as players might move to different 1.8 servers because of the lack of players currently playing on the pvp survival server. (still 1.7.10)

In the first place, why do we need reset stuff...?
I want you to reset only map and update to 1.8.

Admin, You can't make huge chest to save items??
    Are there any problems?

My opinion on this topic is the same as ever when it was first brought up.
    Reset the map.
The reasoning for this is because PvP has become dull. Once you have everything, whats the reason to keep playing? As for Frost and Ritzy, think of the reset as more targets. You guys love to PvP, so if a reset happens, and you only have set of P4, you can get more sets quicker from the new players that actually have a chance. Therefore, you can gain even more from this update then ever before. and it only cost you a couple of bases, since you are going to be able to gain the loot you lost from others. I would also like to mention Putty's ideas for PvP.
I would love these added in, even if its not vanilla. It would add a ton of different things to do, and keep PvP alive with more people.

ok Torch_Reray i see where you are comming from, but if you look at it in a different perspective you arent the only one who will suffer if this possible map change goes through, in fact, everyone will! (probably not as much as the players afking in spawn though) but still the whole point of this new map is for new players to venture out and gather materials, making teams with new land, im sure no one would like to use the old map as it has less resources along with land that are already founded by other players.

I havent read all of putty's idea but the bounty one caught my eye, i think that should be implemented.

I don't think if we reset stuff affects new player.
If they are dissatisfied with it , they can raid us! xD

alright Torch_Reray i know that you REALLY dont wana lose all your items, well listen to me because i feel the same way. currently, the majority of the players dont even have a legitimate base, with this new map reset, it gives them a chance to explore and create one. also, they cannot raid us if they dont have the required materials WHICH can be obtained from the new map.

I quite liked bassmaster's idea of making 2 separate maps

The idea of having 2 separate maps would be a great idea IF.... the server had actual active players who actually mine build bases and pvp with armor. otherwise there would be everyone with stone swords just killing each other at spawn. since the server does not have much "active" players(players who actually play) then it'd be better to have 1 map, if there was 2 maps then all the players would only join 1 single map, leaving the other one almost completely empty. (this is only a theory)

Of course, I agree to reset map.
But I disagree to reset stuff.

If we work harder, we can get more stuff.
    That's obvious.
    Reset for new player !?!?
    It seems unfairer.

    and,
    This is survival.
I never show consideration for such a noob player.
    That's also obvious.

There is no possible way to reset the map without it deleting your base and any stuff in your chest. However, there is a simple resolution that would make it more fair for the longer playing players, and allow newer players to have a better chance at finding available, good land. Allow them to keep all the gold they've earned, and any loot they can store in their player inventory.

When everyone says "Keep some stuff", or "Keep a chest of stuff for me". Realistically I don't think moderators have all the time singling players out on who wants to keep their stuff. I'd rather do a full on reset, everything was start from scratch at one point... right?
