Craftbukkit's DMCA Letter

    That letter was sent by Wolvereness to Mojang.
    It is a DMCA which essentially means this:
    Wolvereness made a large amount of contributions to the LGPL licensed project known as craftbukkit, which is a subentity related to, but not officially owned by the Bukkit project. It is the collection of source code built upon their github site, and is a community-owned source which is contributed to by multiple users.
    The DMCA is essentially a denial for them to use any of his commits or any piece that he worked on, and as one of the repository leads within the license, he has the right to legally force Mojang from continuing or contributing to the project in any way.
    If they "update" craftbukkit like they're claiming to, they're in violation of the DMCA, and therefore are subject to a lawsuit.
    It is important to remember that craftbukkit and bukkit are not the same thing.
    Bukkit is owned by Mojang. Craftbukkit is owned by its contributors.
    Basically, they can't do anything with it anymore.
    The only way they can unlegitimize his claims is by forcing a copyright violation on bukkit, and shutting the project down.
    Which they will probably do.

    This is just the Wolverness guy holding a grudge against Mojang for taking bukkit from the community.

    I totally agree with him :v

    In my opinion, this isn't a big problem at all. I'm sure it is possible for somebody else to create something similar to Bukkit.

    Mojang wants Realms...
    Mojang doesn't want Multiplayer :C

    Mojang actually makes a buck when they sell Realm which is probably why we should expect to see the end to multiplayer in the future to come... Just a personal feeling
