    McBrawl Moderator Application:

Hello Brawlers! I would just like to thank the people who have managed to make this journey possible by being friendly and welcoming to me, without you guys, I wouldn’t be here today and wouldn’t be the same person I am now. I have also applied for moderator many times before this one and have learnt a lot from these.

Are you active and helpful on our servers, forums, and Teamspeak?

Yes, I believe that I am active on all 3 of these sections. To start off, the servers. I am very active on a lot of the Mcbrawl servers and have enjoyed playing them since the very first day I joined. I play a variety of different Brawl servers including War, WarZ, Minestrike, FpsHG and also Murder. I mainly play on War and WarZ, however, I do spend most of my time playing War. I play War for around 2 hours a day on weekdays (depending on homework) 5-6 hours at the weekend and around 8 hours in the holidays. I would say that I also am very helpful on the servers, as I do my best to answer any questions that are asked in the chat, no matter who asks them and if I don’t know how to answer the question asked, I will read up on it. I will also regularly help new players when they ask basic questions such as ‘how do you buy guns’ or ‘how do you shoot’ and questions like that. Furthermore, I will help the player by talking to them no matter what sort of situation I am in, as I will stop what I am doing at that minute and answer them even if for example I am on a 20 killstreak and am about to nuke, I will stop, hide, and then help them.

Now, for the forums. I have been on the forums for over a year now, accumulating over 1,000 posts and 400 positive ratings. I enjoy looking at what people are discussing in a variety of sections including War, WarZ, Community and also Off Topic. I tend to be on the forums whenever I am on the computer which will end up being around 4 hours on weekdays, 6 hours at weekends and almost all day on the holidays (I will leave the forums tab open). The forums I find is a great way of communicating to other members of the community and also expressing your views and opinions and this is why I enjoy spending a lot of time on them. I also like to welcome new people to our community and enjoy helping them so they know what the rules are and try to make them feel comfortable and not awkward when they join. I like to also post useful and helpful comments to players if they are stuck on something or they need assistance.

Finally, Teamspeak. I am on Teamspeak whenever I am on the computer. I like to talk to people from the community who I have met in game but have never spoken to them properly and also enjoy speaking to people who have similar interests to me. I am on Teamspeak for around 4 hours on weekdays, 6-8 hours on weekends and pretty much all day in the holidays. The reason why I am able to be so active on Teamspeak is because I am on whenever I am doing my homework and non-related things to Brawl on the computer. I also am in the AFK lobby when I am not on the computer (not including when I go to sleep). Many people won’t be able to see me on Teamspeak as I am on a European timezone which can be difficult as when I go to sleep, the Americans wake up and vice versa.

Approximately, how many rule breaker reports have you submitted?

I have roughly submitted around 25 reports of rule breakers, with most of them being hackers on KitBrawl in its early days. Whenever I am on War and I see someone glitching, I will do my best to contact a moderator on Teamspeak so it can be fast and efficient instead of going through the report process which can take significantly longer and will create less work for the Smods+. I also very often report things that are written on the forums, as they are posted in the wrong section, or maybe an offensive image.

    How old are you?

I am currently 14 years of age turning 15 on October 25th.

What time zone are you in?

I am in Greenwich Mean Time which is for England. (UTC +00:00)

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft?

I was first introduced to Minecraft by a friend of mine, and I must admit, at first I thought the game looked absolutely terrible. He was almost forcing me to buy the game when I finally said to him ‘Ok, I’ll think about, I will let you know if I decide to.’ This is where I really discovered what Minecraft was all about and I discovered what YouTube was. I then started watching a few YouTube videos of a channel named ‘Coestar’ and started to watch his Minecraft vanilla survival series that was named ‘Coe’s Quest’ which gave me a lot of knowledge of Minecraft that I now currently have today. After watching around 20 of these episodes, I persuaded myself to get Minecraft. I then opened Singleplayer and decided to dedicate 1 hour to it. At this point, I actually couldn’t get off the game, it was just so addicting so quickly. I played Singleplayer until around Beta 1.9, as this is when I finally discovered Multiplayer.

At this point, this is where I started playing with other people on servers. I didn’t know how to join a server at first, so I had look it up on the internet, while also looking for popular Minecraft servers. The first ever Minecraft server I played on was a regular vanilla Factions server which I had thrived on for almost a year until I found what Mcbrawl was. Over my time playing Multiplayer, I have discovered many new servers and the real power of what Minecraft can do with plugins, and mods. I have played Factions, OP Prison and also MMORPG servers. The first Mcbrawl server I joined was Mc-war and got addicted to War very quickly (I didn’t know how to scope until I was level 25) and got to prestige in no time. Quite a few months ago though, I found War to start to get very boring and I decided to temporarily leave Brawl. This is where I discovered what OP Prison was and quickly got addicted. After 2 months or so, I decided to come back to Brawl, as I missed my friends that I had met and the community. I have also recently becoming part of the well-known Wiki Team which I have contributed to greatly. I believe that I will be able to handle both positions well and to the best of my ability and will make sure to split the time between the two roles effectively.

What is your experience with moderating servers?

I believe that I have a lot of experience of moderating servers in general. I have been a Trial Mod on a public OP Prison server and was about to be promoted to Moderator, however, this is when I decided to come back to Brawl. I have also been an Admin on quite a few personal servers which just me and my in real life friends would play. One of the server owners however decided to make the server go public and this server grew very rapidly and somehow managed to get an average of around 90 people a day. I stayed as an admin on this server for around a month or so. Unfortunately, this server had to close down as my friend (the owner) was experiencing some really bad and upsetting life problems and this is when I then decided to create my own server, hoping for it to grow as big as my friends’ server. It was a regular Factions server and at most I would get around 20 people to join if I was lucky which was a disappointment, but I could see it coming.

Being an admin on a public server; which ended up getting reasonably popular ended up having a lot of stress on my part. I was an in-game admin but was also involved in choosing moderators and s-mods, this gave me lots of experience with this as you had to really trust who you were going to choose as staff for the community. Also by owning my own server, I learnt how many commands and plugins worked, so I would say I have good knowledge and experience of moderating servers.

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status?

If I am granted moderator on Mcbrawl, I will be able to moderate the servers when most of the mods won’t be able to, as they are in the America. I see people spamming, advertising and using excessive amount of insults at people whenever a moderator isn’t on and if I am online and see this, I will be easily able to put a stop to it. I will also be sure to give a warm welcome to anyone new on the forums, in-game or on Teamspeak. I will also be able to help any new people and show them around if they don’t know what to do and make sure that everyone feels good about playing our servers. I will also answer any questions that I can answer in all of the 3 sections, and if I do not know how to answer the question, I will look around it to see if I can find a correct answer. I love to help people, this is why I post helpful and useful posts on the forums, in game and also Teamspeak.

As I have been an admin, trial mod and owner, I will use the best of my knowledge and apply this to the best of my ability to being a moderator on Mcbrawl. I really enjoy helping people overall and this I think is a good ability to have as a moderator. I also believe that becoming a moderator on Mc-war will help me out in the Wiki Team as I will be able to change the map if needed, instead of having to ask another moderator to change the map for me.

Have you ever used a hacked client before?

I must admit, I have tried downloading a hacked client in the past (it failed), but have never tried doing it again. I thought that it would be fun to go on some KitPvP servers and start to use Forcefield, autosoup, and all of that, but then I realised that there actually wasn’t any fun in doing that whatsoever. I am never going to try and download a hacked client again, as it wouldn’t be that fun playing with it really as you could just win all the time and kill everyone you see. By using a hacked client you ruin the game for yourself, and for everyone else on the other side who is having to deal with you. That’s why I never plan to download a hacked client again.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why?

No, I have never been banned from a public Minecraft server as I do my best to always stick to the rules and not break them.

How active do you consider yourself in-game?

In game, I consider myself to be very active. I play Brawl for at least 2 hours a day on weekdays and 6 hours a day at the weekends 1 and a half hours on the weekdays being War and 5 hours on weekends being War; this can be seen as I have over 100,000 kills and am also level 119. Overall I would say that on a scale of 1-10 I would probably be a 9.

How active do you consider yourself on TS3?

On Teamspeak, I would also say I am very active as I am on whenever I am on the computer. This can be 4 hours on weekdays and 8 hours at the weekend. I enjoy talking to other people from the community as it is nice to meet people who have similar interests to you. Most of the time I will be in a private room with my WarZ team or fpsHG or even just by myself. However, when I see a public room that has over 4 people, I will join there. Overall on a scale from 1-10 I would put myself as a 8. I also believe that since I posted my last moderator application that I have significantly improved my activity on Teamspeak.

How active do you consider yourself on the forums?

On the forums, I am extremely active and like to see what people are discussing and talking about especially War, WarZ, Community and also Off Topic. I am on the forums pretty much whenever I am at home on the weekdays and all day on weekends. This can be seen as I have now posted over 1,200 posts and have now been on the forums for over a year. Overall on a scale of 1-10, I would put myself as a 10.

What do you consider your greatest strength?

My greatest strength would have to be having the ability to welcome new people very well and make them feel at home and also having the ability to enjoy helping people by answering questions and posting useful and helpful comments on the forums, in game and Teamspeak.

What do you consider your greatest weakness?

My greatest weakness would have to be getting annoyed about arrogance as it just is horrible when you see people who only just care about themselves and don’t think of others.

How would you handle someone making a minor transgression for the first time?

I would give them a friendly warning telling them what rule they broke and how they managed to break it, I would also send them a copy of the rules so they can see what they can and can’t do.

How would you handle the same person doing it again a second time?

If the player were to break the rule again, I would give them a much stricter warning, again telling them what rule they broke and how they broke it and would send them a copy of the rules and kick them from the server. I would also warn him that if he were to do it one more time that there would be much more serious consequences than just a kick.

How would you handle that person doing it again for the third time?

I would tell them yet again what the rules are and what rule they broke and tell them that that was the final straw and for not following my guidance they will have to endure a temporary ban for an hour. At this point I will notify the Smods+ and tell them what had taken place.

What is your reaction if someone publicly proves you wrong on the forums?

I would first of all check what I had written and read around it, and also ask friends and people who I can trust who may know what the answer is. If from all of this information I am right, I will let them know that I was correct and prove to them that I was. If from this information concludes that he is correct I will send him a message thanking him for correcting me and will consequently change my post so that it doesn’t cause any unnecessary confusion.

What would you do when someone breaks a rule on the forums?

If someone were to break a rule on the forums I would send them a message containing a link to the forum rules thread and notify them what rule they broke and how they broke it. If the broken rule requires a point(s) given to them, I will notify a Smod+.

When would you lock a thread?

    · If someone has posted a message which is a ‘Grave Dig’

    · If the thread turns into a ‘Flame War’

    · Upon owner request

    · If the thread is 100% pointless

    · If the question has been answered

    · If it is a duplicate thread

    · If the thread has gone ‘Off-Topic’

    Describe yourself in 3 words:

    Welcoming, helpful, mature

Anything else we should know about you?

I am a 14 year old boy who lives in England and will be going into Year 10 next year. I love sport very much and am in many school teams, including Cricket, Table Tennis and Soccer. I also play Table Tennis nationally and am currently ranked 50 in under 18’s in my country. I like to even out my time between the computer and sport, and this is why I can take regular breaks for half an hour to do something else. People say I have many traits and one of them is humour which may add a bit more fun as being a moderator. My favourite subject at school is English, I am also one of the best in my year at it and this is why I heavily focus on my grammar, punctuation and spelling. My life has come with ups and downs, if I get accepted this will be an extremely big ‘up’ in my life. I also love to play other games including console games and also computer games, especially the ‘Need for Speed’ series on my console as I have a massive love for cars (just look at my username). I also like to play a game called ‘SimCity’ from time to time, this game is where you try to create a big and bustling city and care for the people that live there. Many of my friends from real life and also Brawl have thanked me for being very helpful to them and many people have also said to me that I am a great team player and that I am very good in working in any team situations which I think is a great attribute to have as a moderator as you have to speak to many other people and work with the other staff members.

I also record gameplay of some of Brawls servers on my own YouTube channel (audir8fan5) and on me and Jareds clan channel, SNF Clan Mc, I can record WarZ montages, War nukes and FpsHG wins, I really like posting gameplay on YouTube, as people have always asked me how I play and that is a good way to show them. I also now believe that I am now a well-respected member of the community by staff and also by players.

Mcbrawl has been a huge part of my life for the last 1 and a half years of my life, as I have met so many amazing people throughout my time here and without the people here at Brawl and at War I really wouldn’t be the same person I am today. I would like to thank the people who have kept supporting me here and have stayed with me throughout no matter what I have done or said.

Situation: A player is out of the map on MC-WAR. What are the steps that you would take to ensure that this player and situation is properly dealt with?

I would first of all tell them to get out of map if possible and/or type /spawn, and would ask them how they managed to get out of map and take screenshots of how they managed to get out. If the player gets back in the map or types /spawn, I would thank them and warn them not to do it again as it is not good to abuse out of map glitches. I would then go onto the forums and see if this bug has been reported or not, if not, I will post a new thread about it explaining the glitch. If it is there I will post my screenshots there to add to the contribution of proof.

If the player however doesn’t get back in the map or type /spawn, I will give them a strict warning telling them that if they do not follow what I say that they will be kicked. If they still do not follow me, they will have to suffer a kick from the server. If he carries on, I will then have to temporarily ban him for his actions and also let a Smod+ what had happened.

Do you generally know how all the plugins and commands work?

Yes, after owning my own server and being an admin on a popular server, I know how commands and plugins work.

Do you realize that if you are disrespectful or abuse your power, your power will be taken away?

Yes I realize that if I abuse my power as a moderator that I will have to suffer the consequence of a demotion and a possibility of never being able to become a moderator again.

Your application is very detailed and I can see that you put some thought into the questions.

I see you in-game quite a bit. You are also level 100+ and that shows that you are very active. When you are playing, you always answer player's questions and never rage. You don't talk in the public war chat very much, however that shouldn't be too much of an issue.

I constantly see you on the forums, answering questions and posting on threads. Most of your posts aren't spam and usually, they are fairly detailed.

I have never talked to you on TeamSpeak. I usually see you online in the morning. However, this is probably due to timezone differences.
    Overall :

    Good luck!

You are very active in game which is also noticeable because you're lvl 100+, you are active on ts and on the forums.
I have known you for awhile now and I know you are very mature, I actually don't think I've ever seen you rage, you're always calm.

    You have a good application.
If what a player is not as major, you have no need to contact an Smod+. By the third warning you would have more than likely kicked/temp banned them. The action of informing an Smod+ is not something that must be done incredibly often. However, two of your largest sections is about yourself, as well as how active you are.
You are on plenty in game, and on the forums plenty. TeamSpeak I do not often talk to you, or see you. This is something that could be due to timezones.
You have a good chance at mod.
I'm so sorry if I sound harsh, I do not mean to.
