give the option to report staff

Would definitely be a nice idea as you can't really report staff easily even when they do wrong things.

As staff manager, all staff abuse reports go straight to me. PM me on the forums, use whatever format you like. Make sure to provide proof, otherwise nothing will be done.

 

If you are to report staff, you should probably know the forums beforehand. That way you know how the staff member acts.

 

Usually, if a player doesn't like how a staff member is acting, they will reach out to a staff member. Even if they don't know how to send a PM, most players know how to make a profile post. The administrator could take action from there.

To be honest I'm sure that not even half the community knows how to use the forums.

 

They don't have to use the forums to reach me. They could just as easily contact me on TS or in-game.

 

And then you have all the people who would report staff because they done something like banning them.

 

Ahhhhhh, the joy of having abusive, corrupted staff. Well since McBrawl is probably one of the most famous minecraft servers in the world, you can expect that they only pick the best of the best considering they go through 100's of staff applications each day. If the staff start abusing power, i would expect that another more senior staff member would take control of the situation. NO worries. I think some people might abuse the "report staff" button if they add that just cuz some ppl might hate certain staff members because of something the staff did or said.

I think that a form similar to the one used for Hacker Reports wouldn't be a bad idea. Name of the Staff, their server or whichever server they are on, what they were doing, etc.
The only problem that could arise is that a staff member may be reported falsely just to try and get them to be demoted. Otherwise, it is not a bad idea.

 

I have to agree with this, because if the weird occurrence when a staff member is breaking the rules actually happens, the admins would want to know pronto.

Well, then you would need sufficent proof just like the hacker form. So false reports wont lead to a demotion.

 

I don't think a google doc is the best to handle reports for staff abuse. There are many different ways of staff abuse and it would be hard to get them all in one document. PMing Signatured would propably also deter some players from reporting staff for a nonsense reason, cause after all they are talking to a admin and the most players have a lot of respect to an admin.

 

I really see no point in this due to the fact that all reports of a moderator abusing his / her powers go to @Signatured via PM.
