So what is your favorite fighter aircraft, and why?
It doesn't have to be just technical reasons, it could be historical reasons or maybe you just like how it looks.
    I've got several.
The F-15 Eagle for 4th generation jets because it's advanced and is capable of being an air and ground strike fighter.
The F/A-18 Super Hornet for generation 4.5 jets because of how it looks, and its unique design. It's also quite sleek and easy to upgrade. Technically it's a fourth generation jet but with upgrades it can easily resemble a 5th generation jet. And of course, it's good for air and ground attack.
The F/A-22 Raptor for 5th generation jets. It's pretty much the most advanced U.S. jet right now, and it was the first fifth generation jet. It gets stealth, the ability to go at supersonic speeds for an extended amount of time, the ability to maneuver quickly and efficiently with its turning thrusters, and it simply looks awesome.

I don't know what helicopters the Norway Special Ops (Marinejeger) use, but anyway it's that one. (Just saying, we produce the drones USA uses :V)

Generation 1: indefinably the F-86 saber. over all the best aircraft of the time. It was nicknamed the MiG master and it is still the aircraft with the highest Kill to death ratio of all times. Over all a classic and a great one at that.

Gen 2: F-8 crusader. "if you are out of F-8's your out of fighters". Ah yes the Vought F-8. It saw service in Vietnam as a multi-role fighter. It was the last aircraft that has ever been made to use guns as the primary weapon on it giving it the title " the last gunfighter". Another version of this was made for reconnaissance. This was a good one.

Gen 3: F-111. *nerd gasm* This aircraft was amazing. IT was a a medium range interdictor and tactical strike aircraft that also filled the roles of strategic bomber, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare in its various versions. This plane can be used in all weather and at all times of the day. It was famous for being able to bomb individual buildings at night. It was used for almost It never got an official name but alot of people called it the aardvark because of its long nose. It was been proven to be reliable and was used for over 30 years. It was the first aircraft every to use variable-sweep wings (the ones that move) and terrain following radar.

Gen: 4 The teen series jets in the USAF (F-14, F-15, F-18 and F-16) all are really good jets. Most are still in service today (all except the F-14 and F-15). Each are really smexy. They saw use in the gulf war and various other conflicts. History is still being written for these aircraft and will still be written for many more years. Hopefully The F-15 will be back cause it is pretty dam good.

Gen 5: Euro fighter typhoon. Modern day technology has been good to this bird. It was designed to be very unstable but has computer in side that keep it flying as intended. It is extremely maneuverable and also very fast.

gen 6: B-1R. It will be a variation of the famous B-1b lancer. this plane will kick ass. It will have i believe 9 hard points for air to air or air to ground missiles. It is Still in development.
