I did that... Do you have to do it every single time you open the forums?

Had to give putty our newest rating

I kinda like the changes, no more flame wars about negative ratings and negavtive spammers. And if someone posts something we don't understand, we have a neutral rating for it now instead of pointless as negative rating.

You just did away with negative rating spam, spite ratings, and rating wars. Not to mention that you literally just liberated the clan sections. No longer will anyone be afraid to post their ideas on account of that which held us back for so long. The forums have been freed. Thank you Chickenputty.

Meh, he's still banned m8. I didn't say that we were opening the prison doors of mcbrawl and letting the convicts roam freely again. :v The normal citizens of the forums have been liberated.

People can still put them down in the comments. In my opinion, I don't see how there was a point in this.

It's a lot easier to be passive aggressive than just downright aggressive aggressive, if you get my meaning. Baby steps m8. I'll make a thread on putting people down in threads at a later time.

I believe the Confusing rating should be removed. It's turned into a rating that is easy to use with an excuse, and is more of a negative-ish rating.
For instance, on most posts after the rating update there is at least 1 confusing rating, even when the posts make perfect sense. Jingca2012
Also, I think the Neutral rating should be added back since I feel like I can't express my opinions via ratings without the Neutral rating. Say I like some parts, but dislike other parts of a server idea. I think the neutral rating should return.

I don't think the problem is the rating itself (or the justifiability of it, because almost every rating can be justified if you argue it), I think the problem is the people abusing it. Just because there's a new rating doesn't mean people have to spam it on every post.

I don't really mind the confusing rating, but you are right. It seems easily abuse-able. Also, did I see an optimistic rating in this sprite-sheet? That would be an interesting addition.

That's the thing. The dislike and pointless ratings were there for the same reason. However, people happened to abuse them. Same with this Confusing rating. It should be removed, and the Neutral should come back in its place. That's just me though.
The Confusing rating is sort of a negative-ish rating. It's not fully negative but it implies a negative. The Neutral is the same, but not nearly as much.

I see where you are coming from Brawler. Personally, I'm afraid that the disagree will become the new negative rating. It seems to be negative-ish in my opinion, but I'm sure we'll get this whole thing sorted out in the end.

Take away the disagree, you may as well take away the other ratings. There's an agree, so a disagree is perfect.
It's not the disagree that's really a problem.

True. Only time will tell. Hopefully it doesn't start getting abused.

If you're going to get rid on negative ratings, you might as well get rid of neutral. Now that negative ratings are gone, neutral will take it's place. I think it's an bad decision. Now that people can't truly express the way they feel about posts through ratings, they will resort to posting, which will turn into flame wars. One thing that was helping NOT start flame wars was negative ratings.

Like @_PublicEnemy_ said, we aren't babies. If people can't take a tiny pixel that means nothing, they handle the Internet, where people flame, disrespect, and more.

I really didn't see why a lot of players are complaining about dislike / negative ratings when you receive one. They don't effect you, the world will not always be kind and loving. Just because you get one or two pointless ratings or dislike ratings doesn't mean you need to quit McBrawl or gaming.
The good thing about the removed ratings is that there will be no more dislike spammers on the forums, witch is great. Also a one rating was added that I think could be abused easily and that might need to be removed, the confusing rating.

If you've noticed, people would sometimes go to another person's profile, ask why they got the negative rating, then an argument would ensue which sometimes led to a flame war. Just look at the comments on Jakob's profile and you'll know what I mean.

So now everyone can post the most stupid idea's and have no consequences? FANTASTIC MATE.
Being free is not being restricted, not being able to give someone a dislike or pointless is being restricted.

One thing that is also bothering me at the moment is this:

when people give a confusing rating, they don't explain why.
Maybe if they explained why, the thing they rated confusing could be changed so people can understand it :V

Usually, whether something is "stupid" or not is a matter of opinion. The fact that you used the word "consequences" says a lot. Negative ratings were not implemented to punish people. It's all the better that they are gone so that they cannot be used for this purpose any more. It is not the average users place to discipline others. That is the mods job. They do that to keep things in order and they don't use negative ratings.

Ok, let me just say that you took my quote out of context. Let me put it this way: the forums have been freed from negative ratings. Rules and "restrictions", as you call them, are put in place for a reason. Let's take a look at laws. Laws are "restricting", but that doesn't make them bad, does it? No, rules and restrictions are put in place to keep the peace and benefit society. If the forums were truly "free" by your definition, they would be out of control. Same with the real world. Absolute freedom would lead to chaos. So is it really that bad that things are better because of a rule being put in place?
