Based on MC-War/MC-WarZ weapons. The only things taken are the weapon names, not the actual stats. (with some exceptions)

Also totally not the typical U.S. vs Russia cliche

This tells the story of a squad, Beta squad. A squad which in the middle of deadly conflict was given a mission. A mission that if failed, will cause bloodshed over the entire planet.

    "3 minutes until deployment!"

Private First Class Jim Kennard walked into the front of the flight cabin, heading over to the equipment room and grabbing his trusty M4A1, an old M72 LAW, C4 plastic explosives and some grenades. After grabbing the weaponry, he was putting on a bulletproof combat vest when the rest of his squad, code-named Beta, walked in. His 5 man squad consisted of him, the explosives expert; PVT Jones, the light machine gun specialist; PFC Ashton; the medic of the squad; PV2 Barry, their sniper; and SSG Zach, the squad leader.
"Hey, Jim. You ready?" Ashton asked.
"Yep, definitely am." Jim replied. "Make sure you grab a parachute," he added on, quickly grabbing a parachute before exiting the equipment room and heading to the back of the cabin, where several other soldiers were waiting. They were being sent to the battlefront in a large C-130 transport aircraft, which was part of a small formation of other C-130 transport aircraft and F/A-18 fighter jets. These were the vehicles and troops of the Democracy, as everyone called it, being sent as part of a large troop drop in an attempt to push their enemies, simply known as the Confederation, back across their borders. A few months before, the Confederacy had attempted to invade the Democracy, and that had resulted in heavy warfare across their borders.
Jim strapped on his parachute, made sure it was working, then took some time to quickly clean his M4A1, which had a holographic sight attached to it, along with a foregrip.
    "1 minute until deployment!"
Getting into position, Jim found himself next to Jones, who was reassembling his M249 SAW.
Turning to Jim, Jones asked "Hey, we got this, right? I mean we have everyone ready, and we've got thousands of troops landing. We got this, right?"
"I hope so," was Jim's reply.
    "30 seconds until deployment!"
The rear hatch of the C-130 began to open, and the soldiers inside braced for drop. Just then, a massive explosion rattled the C-130, ripping off part of the top of the fuselage.
"Holy ****!" Barry shouted. The massive explosion was caused by the burning wreckage of a F/A-18, which had crashed into the side of the transport aircraft after losing control when a Su-27 Flanker missile struck it.
Looking quickly, Jim spotted the missing left wing.
He quickly turned to everyone and shouted "EVERYONE OUT! GO, GO, GO!" Then he sprinted and jumped off the burning C-130, which plunged towards the sea.
Pulling the parachute ripcord at 1,000 feet, Jim found himself floating down into a war-torn beach. Explosions from frag grenades and airstrikes were everywhere, and he spotted thousands of Democracy soldiers attempting to advance despite the heavy hail of gunfire that the Confederacy was launching at time. His squad landed near him, and they joined the massive Democracy advance. Eventually, though, the Democracy found themselves stuck in a stalemate, engulfed in intense fighting between both sides. None could advance.
While firing at the enemy, Jim suddenly noticed about a dozen enemy troops coming out of two IFVs.
"Flanking force coming, 9 'o clock!" he shouted. Zach turned to see them. "Jones!" he shouted. "Suppressing fire, that way!" Jones quickly moved over to a good position, mounted his SAW on its bipod, and began spraying suppressing fire. Barry turned to begin shooting the advancing troops with a M39 Enhanced Marksman Rifle.
Soon after the flanking force was eliminated, Zach received a radio transmission from the commander, who told him "Take your squad and head to this position, located on your GPS. I need you and your squad to investigate what is going on there."
Taking a jeep and suppressed weapons that was dropped by an aircraft, the squad drove off the beach and towards the position. Eventually, to stay hidden, they ditched the jeep and threw camouflage net over it. They silently advanced towards the position marked on the GPS.
Nearing the area, they found a large factory. "Alright, on me," Zach told the squad. The 5 man squad quietly moved towards the building, when gunfire suddenly erupted around them.
    "Cover! Get, to, cover-"
Zach's orders were interrupted as he was shot in the chest by a person wielding a Lamentation, an upgraded version of the Galil assault rifle. Jim quickly took him out with his suppressed M4A1, then while the rest of the squad covered, moved Zach into cover.
    "How is he?" Jones asked.
"****ed up pretty bad," Jim replied. "We're losing him, and fast. Ashton, get over here."
Ashton, the squad medic, moved over to Zach. Just then, Zach opened his eyes. "Ashton... get me that L-LMG..."
Ashton slid Jones' M249 SAW over to Zach. "I'm useless to you guys.... I'll hold them.... get inside, stop whatever they're doing...."
The squad watched in silence as Zach spoke his final requests.
"Kennard's the squad leader now. Make sure you don't screw up.... It was nice serving with you all," Zach quietly said. He put his hands on the SAW, which was placed on a bipod on the ground.
"Wait! We can't just leave you here to-"
    "Go! That's..... that's a direct order....!"
Reluctantly, Jim stepped in. "Come on, Beta squad. Let's move." Quickly saluting his dying squad leader, he got up, running towards more cover near the building.
As soon as he got up, more gunfire erupted. However, the rest of the squad moved anyways, and managed to get near the building.
"Most of the baddies are by the front entrance," Jim told everyone else. "Prep a flashbang, and we'll get in there. We'll avenge Zach."
Barry prepped a flashbang, then tossed it in. As soon as the flashbang detonated, the squad quickly eliminated the 15 or so men who were defending. They entered soon after.
As they crawled through an air duct, to keep hidden from any guards, the men soon heard the whir of turbines and large fans. Finding the end of the air duct they had climbed into, Jim kicked it out, and then one by one, the squad climbed out. Using the shadows to their advantage, Beta squad investigated what the large turbines were for. Then, Jim noticed something. The glint of several large cones. As they neared, Jim silently gasped.
"What is it Jim?" Jones whispered.
    Jim hesitated before replying.
    "Those are WMDs."
The squad took a moment to take this all in. WMDs, here? A nuclear weapon had never been used in any war before. But they also knew that there must be more nuclear weapons that the Confederacy had.
Contacting the commander, Jim told him of the WMD threat.
"See if you can disable them with a large EMP blast," the commander replied. "You should be able to get to their elec-"
Suddenly the connection cut out, and alarms began flashing red. Then, footsteps.
"****, we've been discovered. Try to disable those turbines, it's the least we can do."
The squad moved towards the turbines and began placing C4 on their large walls, before gunfire erupted once again.
"Take cover!" Jim shouted, as everyone moved behind a turbine. Popping out once in a while, they would shoot suppressed bullets into the heads of Confederacy troops, most armed with AK-47s.
Just as Jim popped out to take out another soldier, he found the barrel of an AK-47 pointed right at him. The man shot. The recoil caused his initial shot to miss completely, but the second shot hit. Not where he intended though.
A massive fireball erupted through the whole turbine room as the C4 detonated, having been shot by the AK-47. Jim was launched into a wall, then he blacked out.

    ........

Jim woke up, blood everywhere around him. Not just his blood, but blood of others. He didn't know who, but there was no way for the squad leader to focus on that. He struggled onto his stomach, and began crawling slowly towards the site of the WMDs. A man was there, inserting launch codes into the computer. After what seemed like an hour of struggle and pain, Jim finally grabbed onto a pistol near a dead soldier's body. A Colt Python revolver. A rare weapon, this shot a bullet that would likely kill instantly. His hands shaking, Jim aimed slowly at the control computer. He shot the computer screen first, then the man, who fell dead to the ground instantly. Jim, his vision getting blurry, heard a beep. Realizing in horror that he had failed, Jim watched helplessly as a nuclear warhead was launched. The first nuclear weapon to ever be used in war. The first, and definitely not the last. No doubt headed to a major Democracy location to completely annihilate it. After that, nuclear warfare would start. World War III.....
Jim, unable to stay up any longer, fell unconscious, his mission failed....
