I've noticed that some mod apps are getting accepted when about half the community doesn't want them to be mod and the admins do.

1.So, I came up with this
Mods cannot be accepted if they have 20+ NO responses in their mod application
This way the community can somewhat control what mods get mod, not just the admins.
The community members would see some people Ingame and if they see them something wrong, they just vote no, because some of the mods a lot of the community downright hates but they still get mod.

    2.The next thing is...
Players being able to comment in the mods section again.
A mod could simply ban a person from that specific forum if they are disrespectful etc etc.

    Here's a better alternative for idea 1.
If there are 25+ votes, if 3/7 of the votes are no votes, denied.
As for idea 2, I don't think mods can ban only from a specific section. Letting everyone comment would only cause more trouble.

What if one person, with a lot of alt accounts, doesn't like someone who applied for mod. Then they just use all of their accounts to vote 'no'? I like the idea, but there are some holes in it.

I would like having players comment on mod apps again.

The first idea wouldn't work well because it seems biased to judge someone solely based on their reputation.

I like the second idea. Once the staff ban everyone who's disrespectful, there'll only be the constructive criticizers left. However, this should be tweaked as to prohibit new members from posting in staff apps. Their decisions are usually more poorly judged, so the account would have to be registered for a couple of months and have [x] posts before that account is allowed to post in staff apps.

Ugh. I don't really like the first idea, because a player could just vote no because of bias activity, without even reading the application.

The second idea is good. However, I don't think any player should be able to do it. I know this was suggested a while ago, but from my knowledge, not one admin has even looked into it (correct me if I'm wrong @Signatured).

It would be a lot better to have only specific people to have the privilege to comment on a moderator application, if not all. Because even though there are people out there who might start up "SNN" again, there are also people out there who actually know something about the applicant that the mods don't. Good or bad. People have been going to the applicant's profiles nowadays to post what they think about their application, and 95% of the time, the admins don't even look at it. They accept it based on mostly their opinion, as seen here. I've read it, and from what I've seen (correct me if I'm wrong again), it doesn't say anything about the community's opinion.

I can list around 10 people who should have the privilege to comment on another's application (who aren't already staff).

So if you guys are going to let us vote in the poll, you should at least try to give a second thought to our opinions.

So what if I just get 25 alts/friends to vote no on the app, then what happens?

As for number two, I wouldn't mind but I don't remember players leaving helpful responses. All I remember seeing was "snn" or a sentence saying +1 with a really broad reason.

That's from the users that abused it. There were also great members who gave constructive criticism.

Yes, that's true. So you want specific players to only comment on mod apps? That sounds kinda half-baked to me.

I remember getting "snn" when I had 500 posts , so -1 to the ideas.

Approved to write the wiki, not to comment on staff applications.

From my point of view, I do not agree with this for many different reasons!.

1.People can simply created multiple accounts to dislike the application!. Or like the application. (Liking the application with your als accounts, is cheating and unfair on others, who have applied for moderator).

And there is many more other ways
