Okay so we all know that the Mc-Warfare community is only getting worse and has really changed sense 2012 or so. Back then players were nice and you never saw a player say "Iso noob" or "mini noob". Currently what we do when we see a player breaking a chat rule such as trying to bypass blocked words we msg them and warn them that way. We don't warn them in public chat (this will not change).
When we see a grenade glitcher we warn and kick, hackers we get video proof, kick for one hour if it's obvious he's hacking such as flying. If it's hard to tell we just record and report to Giggadream or an Admin.

This is how we handle it, but what do you want to see us do to improve the community and help change it back to the good old days (witch will be hard)?
Post you're ideas, comments, and feelings below. Are we doing a good job? What do you want to see from us?

Also do you also help keep ruler breakers from breaking the rules?

    • Actual action taken against rule breakers (seriously, ban the grenade glitchers if they repeatedly do it)
    • More balancing to weaponry
    • Eliminate the pay to win aspect
    • War mods seem like they're doing nothing (I know otherwise, I'm a former war mod too)
Those are a few of the major things I've got.
As always though, we appreciate the hard work that the staff team has done. Keep it up.

Of course, some of these are dev things. But I think I've made my point for some of the bullets.

I think there should be a stricter with nube calling, If a mod sees you doing Repeated nube calling a mod could kick you.

You should publicly state your warnings. If players see a mod publicly warning someone, they're less likely to do the same as seeing a public warning would set of an example of the consequences for breaking the rules; this is especially for noobs.

    I always do this.
That way, it not only applies to them, but everyone on the server can see that doing whatever the person is doing is against the rules.

We are not doing that because it could start flame wars in chat. That actually happens, I saw it happening a few times. Most of the times it are friends or other people who think mods don't moderate good enough and then the mod has to keep even more people calm.

I would rather have some kid yelling at a moderator in public chat and getting kicked than to have other people believe it's okay to do that same thing. Also, like F1r3tar said, it sets an example for new players.

I agree with you, but the admins made up the rule that we have to warn them in PM's cause public warnings sometimes started arguments between the player and the mod.

I would like to see mods cracking down on player behaviour a lot harder than they are now. A lot of these people are so used to acting like idiots that it's hard for them to stop, and most of the people playing on War are of an age where they can be told the rules to more of a strict note. Remember, these are people of ages where they are in their prime for learning, if the rules are enforced strictly, they are going to abide by them.

Warn them in public and ask them to stop spaming etc. The difference between normal users and mods is the colored name ingame.( This is the proof that mods are like normal users. )
So why do most mods behave like they are something special?

If the player doesn't understands why he got warned/kicked he will do it again.

Choci, rules changed since you were Mod. We are supposed to warn them in PM's.
I also don't see why you said that "the different colour is the proof mods are like normal users". Thats kinda illogical.

You can also explain other players in PM's why they shouldn't do something or how they are breaking a rule.

A problem that I had during my time moderating was that when warning people Via PM other people on the server had absolutely no idea that I was taking care of the situation. This leads to confusion ect. I am not saying that the current system is wrong, I am just clarifying what people are saying.

Thats also the problem I have with the PM system, I often get players telling me to handle a rulebreaker when I already did.

But in opponence to Choci's statement it is possible to handle the rulebreakers in PM's as good as in public chat.

Ban for player insults, e.g. Down syndrome, racism, harassing, etc., Even when a mod isn't there. This just bugged me so much.

Really I think the only 'major problem' right now with the mc-war moderation isn't that you guys aren't trying. Its just that you're all spending time on one server (or maybe a few servers around it) and almost never migrating to the backwater servers. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen people using cheats in servers like eight, nine, and ten while the mods were keeping a keen eye out on servers one through five.

Besides that I think we need stricter rules against flamers and chat spammers, they really ruin the game for everyone else. Get a great headshot that you're really happy about (or maybe accidentally kill someone more then once)? sorry, the person you killed is going to target you exclusively until you log off while spamming the chat with insults (this is a really over the top example but it has happened to most of us at least once). This isn't what I want mc-war to be, I want it to be a place that I can go to blow off some steam, not get worse because someone rages at me for thirty minutes.

that was really harsh sounding, I hope you know that I don't actually hate you mods :stuck_out_tongue:

Some members, the Mods know that they are big ragers and accusers. Some Mods tough, warn these players in a friendly and sometimes even a bit asking tone like "Can you stop? That would be very nice of you". These players should be warned like "Stop with that now, otherwise I will kick you". Of course the new players should be warned in a less strict tone the FIRST time and be told that its against the rules. Some Mods dont even react to minor insult which takes away the point of moderating. These minor insults is the big problem of mc-war.

I actually warned people publicly until I was told several times to say it in pms which I find as BS.
The rules need to be stricter, get rid of the pm rule, and stricter consequences.

When I was a war mod, I always found it completely ridiculous to have to warn somebody in ./msg. A while back, when Signatured was Super-Mod, I saw him warn out loud. He told me that you warn out loud first, then repeatedly warn in a PM until further punishment.

I honestly think this is a better method than warning in ./msg every time.
