So, how did this turn from a discussion on ebola to a discussion about races and people calling each other ignorant and stupid? :L

 

When was this a discussion about Ebola? This was always a discussion about the ignorance REGARDING Ebola.

 

Hes being ignorant by thinking "black american" is a more acceptable term than "african american"

 

If people are getting pissed off here then why are you still clicking on this thread?

um.. No it wasn't. You're just trying to make it about that and whats with all the "you're stupid" or "you're ignorant" you're a coder with admin powers. If you don't like this thread then don't comment, its pretty simple if you tried. I don't understand how you think thats mature. I've done some immature things but most were after my demotion, you have a staff tag and you're still annoying.

And for everyone thats getting off topic, the name of this thread is "Ebola" and its tagged serious which it is. If you have nothing serious to say about that topic then why are you commenting.

Plus, if someone says their a specific race you can't disapprove anything because you have no proof. So just agree with them instead of making things worse.

You don't have to act like all of the blame goes to one person. When you're in an argument, all sides are responsible. So stop acting like it wasn't your fault. You took part in it too.

What I'm saying is that you 3 have been arguing for the last 2 pages and now you're pinning all of the blame on one person. It's not just his fault, it's yours as well.

Honestly I dont even see any flame here besides calling someone "stupid" and I guess you could count someone calling myortvye an asshole, but I wouldnt consider that a flame war imo

Your misuse of the word "Ignorant", while it may not be literally staring it, clearly has subliminal messages filled with negativity and insults. Like nicole said, "Ignorance means not-knowing". You use the word as an excuse to target someone for misunderstanding, or whatever you believe to be the case. Instead of doing the right thing and informing Pub what you prefer your race be called, you repeatedly call him "ignorant". While this may not be directly stating the word "stupid", it's context and use of the word certainly points to the fact that you are calling him stupid. If he truly were "Ignorant" as you say, shouldn't you do the right thing and "inform" him of his misunderstanding? Instead, you and Myort call him derogatory words, which while may not be spelled, per say, that way, it certainly has the negative charges within it often associated with the words "stupid" and "dumb".

 

I called him ignorant because instead of looking it up on the internet he blatantly used a derogatory word for my race while assuming that i was wrong about my term. Not only did I say "Please" but i also linked him a definition of the word. After he made the sjw comment though I knew he was just trying to get a response though and that he was obviously trolling for a response.
