L120_Isolator name change.

To be honest. This won't really have a use.
It will take some time to be done (and that time can be used for some more important things)
And it has no real use.

I still think its appropriate for the gun to keep its name since (to my knowledge atleast) its just an upgraded version of the l118

 

Actually, it's an upgraded L96... but they're the same type of weapon anyways .-.
I think the texture should be changed instead to resemble the classic Isolator texture; the same was done with the Skullcrusher and the Lamentation.

 

I don't see the point with changing the name just because it looks like intervention in the new texture pack. This would also cause a lot of confusion.

I really don't think it should be added for reasons stated above. Plus, some people still use the old textures, so the rename wouldn't fit for them.

 

Doesn't do anything to the game but I like the isolator's name.

 

It takes me longer to open my minecraft directory and drag in a file than to type M200 Intervention in place of l120_isolator

Your idea does sound much more sophisticated.. However I think people who aren't on the forums might be confused if all of the sudden their iso disappears and a gun with a different name shows up. I personally see no problems with the gun's current name and I don't thin it needs modification...

 

A lot of you don't seem to realize that there's no gun called L120_Isolator in any of the CoD franchise. Plus, this name sounds cooler than what the current gun name is.

You all say the name change would cause confusion. How can that be so when the texture of the gun would remain the same? I think it's obvious to tell that the M200_Intervention would be the Isolator, since the texture wouldn't be edited. Even if this might cause confusion, that would only be very temporary, as players would recognize the Isolator only received a name change, nothing more.

 

Not an awful point, however I really don't think its worth the trouble of changing the game... Its purely a cosmetic thing, so what the gun isn't the same name is its COD counterpart?

 

It doesn't take that long to rename a file. This can be done in a few minutes. :V

 

The Isolater is supposed to be the intervention. So I agree.

 

While I agree this is only for aesthetics, aren't we trying to keep the server closer to its CoD roots? Besides, it doesn't take that much effort to rename the server file for the Isolator.

 

One of my favourite sniper rifles irl is the intervention, and it sounds cooler than isolator. +1, we would just need to make a message in chat iso was changed to intervention

 

It is already confusing since the Barrett has the same texture

The isolator should be the M24 SWS sniper rifle because the m24 is a bolt action rifle, has a small magazine and has a six second reload (1 second per round) since the sniper must manually put the shots in.
The iso has a 4 round mag and a 4 sec reload so 1 second per round like the m24

 

They have different textures.
The M24 reloads via a magazine, not via chambering, so I don't see how it could fit. Besides, the M24 is quite similar to the L118A which is a AIAW, so that wouldn't be a viable solution either.
Best solutions:

• Retexture, (optional) rename to L96A1
• Rename to M98B

First solution would be better imo
