    I hope orange is reading this, as this is an under the hood issue that needs to be dealt with. The SpongeJump plugin being used, although useful for smaller servers, isn't suitable for larger servers. Please replace the sponges with tilled dirt you can jump on, or pressure plates with sponge blocks underneath.

    Reducing server side lag. Player move events get fired a over twenty times for second for the average player. Multiply that by 35. If there's a sponge block under them, do even more calculations to set their vector. The amount of work done is huge and useless.

    Yep, I have noticed huge amounts of lag when someone gets launched by one.

    Client lag. That's your fault, although if you mean anything else, then yea.

    so what is the goal of putting a pressure plate above it? it will still make the player move...

    Yeah, it must be then. It's only in the spawn and in maps with sponges in them.

    Lol. If there's no pressure plate, the server has to "think" about what block is under the player every time they move. If there's a pressure plate, you may only get one per second as your not checking for players moving but instead for pressure plates being steeped on. Trust me, it'll be 20 times or so faster with a pressure plate.

    Remember: this is about server lag, not client lag.

    I never lagged, because of sponges?
    Only of spawning people amd sometimes just of srver lag

    The servers have alot of RAM, listening to what block the player stands on shouldn't be a problem

    They have a lot of needless RAM which could be "spent" doing better things. They could actually be saving money.

    What are @orange451 s thoughts?

    I don't have lag with this so its not server lag... its you client lag......cause I have no lag at all with that

    I don't lag from sponges. Server lag doesn't affect GPS. It deals with things like when you right click it taking a second for your gun to shoot, clicking buy gun taking a while to register, etc. You may be a FLUXer, but that doesn't mean you know about bukkit.

    The point is, the server is paying money for needless calculations.

    I'm just saying that even if you spend 10 hours a day on the server and are level 100, doesn't mean a person necessary knows all of the under the hood stuff.(not referencing any single person)

    ya I do play 10 hours a day :stuck_out_tongue: (i would play more but i have school :frowning:) and I'm only lvl 71 almost lvl 72 and one day I will lvl up to lvl 100!!
