I've dealt with playing on an iMac too long. Finally, I've reached the decision to build my own gaming computer. Just one problem: I have no idea where the hell to start.

I know most of you here a complete nerds jk hue or have possibly built your own computer, so I need some tips.

All I plan to do on it is simple gaming, Graphic design, Video editing, and use it for school.

Money isn't a huge issue, though I don't want to go over 600 to 700$, knowing tht I'll still have to buy a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

A good gaming monitor + mouse + keyboard is going to cost a good $250+.
You're saying you want to build a gaming computer for $450?
    Heh, no way.
A custom PC is going to go over your budget. However, for your needs, you could simply purchase a PC/Entertainment system crossover such as the Alienware Alpha as well as many others, and still have plenty of cash for some sick gaming gear.
For your price range, however, don't expect to get a top-notch PC.
You could, however, invest in a Laptop, which wouldn't be a bad idea.
Either save up your money, get a Laptop, which if you are interested, I can help you out there, or purchase an Entertainment PC.

Reset your 8/16GB Mac, buy Razer Deathadder, new keyboard and a Razer headset. There you go.

There are guides out there saying how to build budget gaming computers. Though, the only tip I can give is buy an AMD processor and make sure you have dedicated graphics card. AMD tends to be better for gaming, as my cousin and I get very similar framerates and he has a lower speed processor, which is an AMD, mine is intel. Also, dedicated graphics cards will help you sooo much. It will boost your framerate and make the graphics just nicer

Good decision on building your own. By building it yourself, you are going to save $100-200. Are the $600-700 for just the parts(GFX card, CPU, etc.) or everything(Keyboard, moniter, etc.)?
