Eh, administrators can see the votes on a closed poll.

 

But look at what @Scoat2 said on his application.

Plus, one vote doesn't mean too much.

 

1. A pole is not required on applications. I don't see why you would need a random pole in your application, it makes no sense to have a physical object in a written application. v:
2. Public votes cause people to be more biased. See post above.
3. Voting for yourself isn't an instant denial. The administration usually looks at the other votes on the poll, first. If they voted for themselves, but also had 51 Yes votes and 2 No votes, that doesn't mean they should instantly be denied.

 

I am greatly appreciating the general use of the word "pole" in this thread

 

I don't see this being a big problem, its only one vote and doesn't change too much. It shows a little bit about the maturity of the person, but thats it.

 

I always tought it was spelled poll.

Anyways, this is not really necicarry because as said above, public polls are more biased and 1 vote does not really matter.

 

Not sure if this is sarcastic, if not, it IS spelled poll.

Now back on topic. I see this as a very pointless. It is not needed.

I wouldn't see why this is such a big deal.

• All you have to do is set your poll so that you view the results after you vote, and then set it so that you can't change your vote.
• Does it really matter if it is a closed poll? Scoat says otherwise. Plus, administrators can easily edit the poll in ~10 seconds.
• Plus, it doesn't matter that much if somebody votes for himself. There will probably be more than 25 other votes that will say what everyone actually thinks.

In conclusion I really think that this is unnecessary, since we already know what the community thinks.
