Quoting locked threads

Well if you know how to quote by just typing this is pointless, just copy/paste their message in a quote.

 

Just quote another one of their messages and replace the text lol

 

This is basically what I do. Or you can really just do "[QUOTE = {user} ]{message}[/QUOTE]".

Another solution:

1. Copy the message you want to quote.
2. Paste it in the intended area, and hit Save Draft (next to the two arrows) BUT DONT SEND!
3. Find a message they left on a open thread/conversation
4. Copy the message and Remove the message within the quote.
5. Paste the message in the intended area, and put the first part of the quote, (as shown above) before the message, and the last part of the quote after the message.

This is also a viable solution, and works pretty well.

^ it shows the name. The only thing you can't do is click on the arrow to find said post. But with some editing, even this can be done.

You can use this to effectively "simulate" a quote from a locked thread.

Now, back to the code, you can insert these values. The post number is 361646, in this case.

It works most of the time. Only doesn't work when referencing the original post. But then you can use the method that XxIronRavenxX stated.
