Flares really aren't even meant for combat, and is also not in many FPS game either so I highly doubt this will be accepted. All this gun really sounds like to me is just a downgraded version of the flamethrower in a way. Also next time, try following this guide when trying to post gun ideas like this, as it makes it a lot easier for the staff to understand how it will work and if it will be too overpowered, or under powered.

 

Flare gun works in Team Fortress 2, but it wouldn't suit the Mc-War theme.

Well, I'd like to see more unique secondaries.

 

As a server though we are focusing more on the 'Call of Duty' feel instead of TF2, which doesn't include a flare gun. Thanks for pointing that out though.

We tend to only accept guns that are in the Call of Duty series. It would most likely have to be a very good idea or one supported by the admins for it to be not in Call of Duty and accepted.

Even if it is, Crafter would have to follow the proper guide for it to actually be accepted, as if he doesn't it will most likely be rejected immediately. Adding this detail gives everyone a sense of what the gun will be like to play with, and you may also want to state what particles you want to come out of the gun.

 

A flare gun would really be of no use considering that it can't really be considered as a gun. Besides I would see it more in FPS-Hg to show your position.

Gun ideas from Call of Duty are the ones that are accepted the most. Plus, a flare gun doesn't really fit the Mc-War theme.

If this was added, I don't see many people using it. For the level you chose, I'm pretty sure people would still use the python rather than the flare. I see it more of a downgrade of a pistol. It was an idea however and a new pistol which I would really like to see new ones. Keep on thinking!

 

When I saw this something cool popped into my head. Instead of this being a secondary you should make it a tactical (doner) you shoot the fire work in the air as a distress signal. What it does is for 30 seconds or so it makes a ring of , well a ring of exp multipliers. For every kill your team gets in that area you get the regular exp but +10.

It is used by, for example, if a ship is sinking and helicopters can't find them, they fire flare guns. Or if they are lost in a forest - flare gun. It can't really be considered a weapon.
