Story Breaking the Mirror

Hey guys. This is my first Flash Fiction story, and I'm thinking about becoming a writer. I'm writing my own book at the moment, and I hope you'll give me some feedback/support. Thanks.

Breaking the Mirror​

Whenever Thomas sees waterfalls, his mother comes back to life. Wandering through the woods, coming off the path, and now Thomas is staring at this gleaming waterfall that seems to reflect his inner emotions, and himself, like a mirror. Standing at the glittering falls, staring at his reflection, the mirror quickly turned into his mother. The grotesque memory jutting back into his mind, only 11, and his mother is cliff diving. "She's a natural!", "A true hero at its finest", "An incredible role model!". All these words came fluttering into his head like a flock of butterflies being lost in the wind. They said she was a superhero, he thought she was a superhero, invincible to the inevitable clutches of fate.

He was wrong.

The next day they buried her next to the cliff she dived, next to the waterfall she dove off of, along with Thomas's heart.

Now he was at another waterfall, its dazzling waters falling gently into the blue lagoon below him.

Still seeing his mother in the reflection, he reached out.

N-NO, he told himself, I-I WILL N-NOT-I will-I-I WON'T-I mus-NO, I-I.....

I WON'T.

Thomas turned back from the now broken mirror, his own reflection still visible walking away in the roaring falls behind him.
