    you lay redstone down then push the button which makes the lava bucket dispense lava from the dispensers, and it combines with the water therefore making obsidian

    Personally, I find making and destroying nether portals to be the best way to generate obsidian. You don't even need any raw materials. I'm not sure if people will purchase this if nether portals are a better way to generate obsidian.

    I can build a similar obsidian generator in less than 30 minutes and I already have 2. I don't really see why anyone would buy that.
    But redstone is absolutely easy to get and its more comfortable if you can mine the obsidian in a straight line
