This will be in the new gun plugin, as well.

Nobody ever told me about a new gun plugin. >:L

Anyways, I think the reload mechanics from most FPS games are pretty unrealistic. Reloading in the middle of a magazine or clip would just waste the rest of the shells in the magazine or clip, unless you somehow managed to pull them out and stuff them in another magazine. Consider?

People might not be too happy if they can't reload 'mid-magazine', as it's something they're used to. The shotgun idea is a certain mechanic that is configurable. (i.e. only used in weapons where it would make sense.)

In CoD, apparently you save the magazines. It doesn't make much sense but it's kind of confirmed in Advanced Warfare, with the quick reload mechanic.
The system you suggested only works for more tactical shooters like Battlefield 2. Most shooters these days are more arcade-based so this system wouldn't work.

I think you are right on this point:

    - You shouldn't be able to reload while switched weapons.
-However to compensate for the no reloading while switched weapons, the reloading should be more fast. maybe on shotguns and snipers, the reloading can stay slow because this is realistic but for SMGs, Assaults, and specials.

You have right on this points.

My question for the python, how can you load 9 .357 magnum rounds into a 6 round cylinder?

It also makes sense for the .44 magnum and the python since they are both revolvers and maybe the iso if it has a internal mag (manually load each bullet)

Extended mags ? But regardless, it isn't very difficult to modify a weapon. Especially with the trigger guard removed.

Don't think there is such thing as a extended magazine for a revolver since they do not use magazines (they use clips via cylinder)

    A bigger cylinder :v
Remember that War is based on CoD, and is even less realistic than CoD itself.

It could be that once you reload and switch weapons you can go back and it saves your progress of reloading, this may be to complicated. In that case if you switch it leaves the other gun with no ammo on-hand.

Of course, the weapons in COD aren't realist and you can change what you want.

The lack of realism is what makes things fun.
