I may be level 45, but I must say that I still have a hard time remembering the map even when the name is given. I had that problem ALOT as a beginner to MC-War. So what I'm thinking is that along with the name of the next map and game mode in the chat, there can be a room with a painting of the map on it (a bird's eye view, so not to be confused), or just won big map room with all the maps listed in alphabetical order, along with the type of game mode(s) that go along with that map. Open to any ideas. Your opinions? (This idea does not have to be implemented into the MC-War 2.0 update because that's taking way to long).

EDIT: Just saw @iSyno post about this. To be totally honest, I didn't see his post until after I'd posted. XD I liked his idea about observing a map via Creative, but considering how long it's taking for 2.0, that might be a little much right now. Surely it can't be that hard to create a couple paintings and make a map room.

It is a pretty good idea. but just a single picture of the map? My idea would be that you could use a button to tp to the map and look at it. (No interacting with the map, no guns, only players that also pushed the button)

This would be nice for a top down view of the map to get an idea of what it looks like. It's a good balance between Syno's idea and the current system.

This is a btter idea, since a painting of the map would need to be in the ressource pack and there is only a limited amount of available paintings.

@Romkelolol this is what I mean, a top down view of the whole map in one painting. Keeping it simple and straight to the point.

A map could be used instead, seeing as you can have infinite maps.
Paintings wouldn't work, seeing as there are only like 12 paintings and 80+ maps.

This idea has already been posted, and all it could possibly result in is out of map spots.

Not really. If a map is OOM proof, it's fine.
If it's not OOM proof, that's an OOM found.

It could also be used reversely. A special rank could be made for "map testers" that have the options to preview maps and purposely find OOM spots to report. This job would have to be appointed to someone trustworthy though. Someone who is mature, and has a lot of experience with the server.

    @daniellazer2902
However, your point is kind of invalid, due to the fact that it's near impossible to spot a OOM spot by just looking at a (vanilla) Minecraft map.

No, but to walk around and find OOM spots.

    This idea suggested a painting
    It was later revised to
Therefore you can't walk around and find OOM spots, you're viewing the map item in the MC-War spawn

Oh, well there have been many ideas about actually viewing the maps in person while waiting.

That's not what my idea is. Since the paintings would not work, a map can work, and you cannot view OOM spots from a simple map. The map doesn't even have to be that detailed, it just has to give the player an idea of what the next map is so it can remind me, and show new players the map before they play. Plus it's not that hard to make or program.

That could work, but it would have to have an option to view different levels, other wise, for instance, on Vertigo, you could only see the roof.
