This thread is mainly to say, Moderators get denied because of other "nooby" members.

Now, now, I know you'll be like, "But Admins accept it!" But what I am here to say is that the voters (members) might change their approach at the application. Here's what I mean. Say if someone has a really detailed application and seems active and helpful, that makes a Moderator application. The Admins like it, but then the check the votes and they think the members really didn't like him. But, what the members are doing is, trolling the person.

I think only Staff - Members or Ex - Staff - Members should be allowed to vote. Many members aren't the most responsible thing in the world. I think it is only fair. If you don't add this, please everyone, don't troll Moderator Applicants. It is rude and breaks the very kind, helpful, and active member's heart. Please don't, if it happened to you, you would feel pretty bad right?

^Yeah other people have been doing this... I personally have never actually down-voted anything in a poll, just not done anything to the poll and asked them to improve.

Polls don't matter, from what I've heard. It's all about staff opinions, not community.

The votes aren't a huge part of applications.

Yeah, but they can still influence an Admin's opinion a bit- They don't really want a moderator that everybody hates, now do they? The would-be mod would have to either active on the forums or possibly demoted. But if everybody hates him(or her), then what is the point?

But voting allows members to express their opinion.

True. Regular community can not post comments and replies, they have to be modded, but I think maybe we need to find some sort of way... An opinionater-expresser-thingy-majig of some sort...
Cause the community needs to express it, but we need a way to tell them why without having to be a mod.

Taking away the votes from a moderator application is simply crossing the line. We can't speak on moderator applications due to the amount of immature scumbags who bullied players into leaving. We might as well make moderator applications private to the public if you say so. Also, how exactly would these "Ex-Staff" be able to vote? People like me don't have a specified rank or some form of elevated permissions simply because we were once a moderator. And I don't see special permissions for Ex-Staff/Staff being able to vote on moderator applications only will come anytime soon. Also, if you're really concerned about the voting, you should probably talk to an admin who would probably respond with:
which leads me to say that the admins don't give two craps about the communities opinion, which has escalated to a more serious level in some cases.
In conclusion, I am totally against this.

Maybe if you vote you have to say a message attached to that why

There hasn't been a single application in months (and to my knowledge ever) that we ever accepted someone with more 'No' votes than 'Yes.' The whole reason we have a poll is so that we can get the communities point of view. If we didn't care, there wouldn't be a poll in the first place.

I feel like players should be able to vote on who should be allowed to moderate out servers.

I still miss when you could actually post on moderator applications, so I'd be pretty pissed if they took away our ability to downvote or upvote an application. The polls don't do much to impact the decisions of the staff anyway, so I don't think it's a good idea to remove the votes. We are a community, staff and normal members alike, and we should be able to express our opinions on soon-to-be staff members. The staff always decide whether it gets accepted or not, but I think it's nice for us to have a small part in it.

Not fair due to staff groups and Team Holy. I'll insert a quote from @GreenPeas_
But there have been multiple apps with almost tied votes that were indeed accepted.
