Some Cool Tips for House making!

Alright, I just thought that some of you guys could use these tips to make something really cool in your next creations, so I will give you a guide and screenshots on how to do every one!

Yes, these are screenshots from my mansion I am building.


Tip 1
Clean Grass
Clean Grass is quite simple to do and if done correctly, will look much much better than regular grass/dirt blocks in your creations. To simply do this, use two clay greens or one clay green and grass, then switch back in forth every time you make a straight line, the result should be something like the soccer field I created for my mansion


Tip 2
Lanterns and Spotlights
These two are simple, and look a lot better then regular old glowstone/torch lighting! Another great way to spruce up whatever you are building. Please take note you MUST have WE1+ in order to do the spotlight trick. For the lantern, place a pot down, and then put a cactus in it, on top of the cactus put a beacon, and wham! you got some nice lighting for your house! For spotlights, you must first choose a light block, such as glowstone or an active furnace. Place the light source 2 blocks up in your ceiling, then below it place a cobblestone wall. The cobblestone wall should be level with the rest of your ceiling. Then, place a block below it, turn it into a flower pot with world edit (//set) and then put a cactus in that. Now you have s spotlight hanging from your ceiling The result should look like these two. The lantern is on the left, by the way.


Tip 3
Mirroring
Mirroring is not a very well known tactic, but it can really help you add more depth and detail into your house, making it more realistic and fancy C: In order to do this trick, you are going to have to have 2x the area you are planning to make your bathroom in. You simply build your bathroom, then you must place glass/glass panes separating your bathroom from the other side of the room. Then simply copy everything over to the other side and you have your very own mirror ^-^ The end result should look like this.


Tip 4
Beds
In minecraft, I see people ALL THE TIME making bedrooms with regular minecraft beds. This sickens me seeing that you do not need to sleep in creative mode '-' What do you do then? First, use a good carpet design, it helps set the tone. Then use the matching wool color for your bed. At the end of the bed, simply place snow slightly above the bed, and they will look like a nice soft pillow! You can also do it the other way around if you want a pillow that has color! If you do it right, you should end up with something similar to this.
