Medals / Awards

    We can create medals to give to contributing members on the forums to show their help in the community. This would encourage people to help out in return for a nice badge on their forum account. Not everyone is fit to be moderator and these medals allow them to show their efforts off.

    I have created four generalized medals so far:
    Map Creator - Made a map or build and had it added to the McBrawl server.
    Texture Creator - Made a texture and had it used on the McBrawl server.
    Content Creator - Made a guide or tutorial and had it officially used on the McBrawl website or server.
    Media Creator - Made a video and had it chosen for Video of the Week.

    The images are just placeholders for now. But as you can see, the image is displayed on the poster card (avatar area), on their forum wall, and in the forum help area.

    When medals are given you can state the reason why it was given. This allows us to state what specially the user did. You would only receive one for making multiple maps, guides, etc.

    Are there any other medals we should have? Which and why?

    Does this count for me since I made some builds in the WarZ map. Just curious if this counts.

    Alright, I have been wanting to say this. You said, "Map Creator." Do you get money if you make a map for any game? If so, how much?

    Also, a new medal / award :
    Suggestion Creator: Create a thread that gets used on the server or forums.

    Would medals be exclusively for content-related feats?
    Something such as being a member for a set time seems like a stretch from the current medals.
    There could also be something such as the community voting for their favorte member, and the most voted gets a unique medal for that.

    Again, not the same idea as what you have implemented.

    I like these ideas, and I have a question putty:
    If a build team creates a map, and has it added, does everyone in the team get the medal? Reason is Team X created DDay 2 and I haven't seen anybody with that added yet. Including myself.

    Another question:
    Anyways, this seems like a great idea. Nice job putty :wink:

    I love it. I think there are some people who've made massive improvements to the Brawl community who aren't or are no longer moderator who deserve their efforts to be recognized :smile:

    I could think of a few medal ideas. Such as 500+ posts on the forums, getting WE Pro on the Creative server, getting a 100+ level, etc.

    We would give it to everyone who has contributed in the past and the future.

    The medal would just be supplemental in the usual reward.

    I'm going to have to deny this because we cannot really track down who said the idea first. Things like C4 were suggested a lot, but we just added it one day and everyone was like "OOH THAT WAS MY IDEA"!

    Yeah, you have some good ideas with award based medals. I don't think we can automatically give medals, so we cannot do anything like "x amount of y" awards (member since, post amounts, etc).

    Ah, good point. We may have to just give it to the head builder of the project.
