    So, I came home today all happy! Did some jobs around the house so my parents would be happy with me, So I get more time on my Mac :wink:. And anyway. I opened the lid of my mac and it was still on, I forgot to turn it off once again. So anyway it was running slow so I rebooted it. When I tried logging back in this wierd White screen just froze there. I kinda sh*t myself at this point. I rebooted it constantly. It didn't work. With some research I found out I had the "White screen of death." Now I literally nearly through up when the word death was implied to my £1300 MacBook pro that I only got last Christmas so I asked my dad about it. He was ok with it and helped me fix it but the only way was to wipe my whole computer of all its memory. I lost EVERYTHING. My youtube stuff, recording software, custom tex packs, my server.dat folder which reset my multiplayer server list, my Teamspeak, my 30 alts, minecraft, notes, my moderator application and all personal stuff. I know some of this is I can just download again but most is lost forever. (My brother broke my external hard drive with my back up memory on it.)

    Now I'm pretty sure you other Mac users don't want this happening to you so here is a list of stuff you MUST remember to do from now on. In serious about this.
    • Turn your Mac off after using it
    • Make sure to eject all USB sticks or hard disks after using them (Don't just tear them out of you Mac)
    • Make sure to never save anything to your Mac only if necessary. (Use a external hard drive to save stuff)
    • Have back ups of all your important stuff.
    • Don't let the hard-drive (Macintosh HD) EVER get full. Keep at least 15gb free.
    I hope I have helped all you Mac users and if you keep to those rules your Mac will be fine.

    This is a true story and I have seriously lost everything.

    I feel ya. My 4 year old laptop's been through tons of crap. Right now, my laptop's undergoing repairs after my RAM got trashed unexpectedly.

    Thanks. It's just a bit of a pain starting over with nothing. A years worth of memory, gone.

    I broke a computer that was 1.5x times more expensive somehow.

    Also, always keep the vent open so it doesn't overheat. After playing minecraft for an hour or so, my PC smells like a burning toaster.

    I see potential in this. Have you tried laying a piece of toast on your PC? Or possibly tried making grilled cheese with it? I'd put bets on it, that your PC doubles as a toaster.
