McBrawl Moderator Application:


Are you active and helpful on our servers, forums, and Teamspeak? – In-game I am on about 4 to 6 hours a day. Occasionally, I stay up all night either helping players or playing with friends. I always have my eye on chat to help answer any questions anyone has about the server also making sure no one is breaking the rules. I check forums regularly and post in many sections of the forums mainly the survival section. The pvp section is not as active as other sections on the forums. I also post in the Off-topic section and other McBrawl server section’s on the forums. I am friendly and able to communicate well. When I am on TeamSpeak, I am in public channels off and on and same with private channels. In my TeamSpeak description I wrote this “I am not a Mod but, But if you ever need help feel free to PM me”. I respond to anyones PM on TeamSpeak as soon as they message me.


Approximately, how many rule breaker reports have you submitted? - I have submitted 3-5 rule breaker reports In-game and 3 have been banned that I know of. I always have my recording software out and ready just in case I run into someone possibly hacking. I also have reported threads on the forums for someone duplicating a thread or flaming on a thread. I always keep my eye out on TeamSpeak for any rule breakers such as, inappropriate avatars, blasting music in public channels where it should not be played unless they are in the Music/Recording, inappropriate TeamSpeak nicknames and much more. If any rule breakers are spotted, I immediately notify any staff that is on.


How old are you? - I am currently 18 years old.


What time zone are you in? - (CST) I am in the Central Standard time zone.


What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? -I know a lot about Minecraft. I have been playing for about 3 year's and I know many tricks. I know that it is possible to break Obsidian without a diamond pick. If you try this it will take you 4 minutes and 10 seconds to break it. I know many more neat tricks but the list would go on and on for a very long time. In my experience with Minecraft I have learned that it is a fun and educational game. I love this game. My older brother first introduced me to the game of Minecraft. The first server I played on was a PVP griefing server and I loved it. That is why I enjoy the survival server on McBrawl so much.


What is your experience with moderating servers? – I was a moderator on one server when I first started playing Minecraft. I do know what it takes to be a good moderator such as reporting rule breakers, Stopping flame wars, Answering peoples questions and being as helpful as possible. Playing with other moderates on McBrawl I do understand the patience and calmness it takes to be a moderator. Sadly, I do not have any proof of Moderating the server though because it was a long time ago. The server had around thirty people on it at all times. After about five months after I became a moderator the server shut down and to my Knowledge has never restarted.


What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? – I will always be ready to help anyone when I am online. I will answer any questions anyone has for me, to the best of my ability. If I do not know the answer to their question I will figure it out and get back to them as soon as possible. I will help keep the peace in the community as best as I can by making the gaming experience a fun and delightful experience for everyone.


Have you ever used a hacked client before? – Since my last application I have used hacked client’s I downloaded them and used them in a single player world. I feel like it is a good experience using hacked clients in a single player world to get a feel of how they work. Now I will Hopefully be able to keep an even better eye out for possible hackers on McBrawl. After testing the hack’s out in the single player world, I immediately deleted them.


Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? – No, I have never been banned before but I have been kicked for immaturity. I believe I have matured since then.


How active do you consider yourself in-game? – I consider myself very active In-game. I am on 4-6 hours a day. Most of my time is on survival but I do like to visit other servers as well. Such as McParty, WarZ, Mc-Warfare and SkyWars. I am always watching chat and helping anyone that I can. I also notify a moderator on TeamSpeak or In-game if someone is breaking the rules. I pretty much spend all my free time on McBrawl.


How active do you consider yourself on TS3? – I also consider myself very active on TeamSpeak I am on most of the day, even on the weekdays. I spend maybe close to an hour or so in public channels such as Room, Survival and many more. I also go to private channels and talk to friends. I spend the majority of my time on TeamSpeak in a private channel but like I said my description does say “I am not a mod, But if you ever need any help feel free to PM me”. You will always see me on TeamSpeak if I am In-game. You will also see me on TeamSpeak sometimes even if I am not In-game.


How active do you consider yourself on the forums? – Well, I consider myself very active seeing as I have 600+ posts on the forums. I post in all sections of the forums such as WarZ, Mc-Warfare, Classic servers, Survival and Off-Topic. Survival is not as active as the other server sections but I still check it everyday I am on the forums. I love to post in the Off-Topic Section seeing as there are many funny and creative threads. I also Do report threads for flaming, Duplicated threads or advertisement. I am on the forums about 10 times off and on throughout the day. I probably spend up to a good 1 to 2 hours on the forums daily.


What do you consider your greatest strength? – I believe my greatest strength is my calmness and patience. I am always very patient when it comes to answering someone’s question. I will answer their question in many ways until they understand what I am saying. I once noticed a member on Survival saying something in chat over and over in a different language but with a question mark at the end every time . So I realized that he was asking a question I opened up google translator and figured out he was speaking german. His question was “How do I see how much money I have”. Using google translator I answered him in german by saying “ ./shop then look in the left hand corner”.


What do you consider your greatest weakness? – I believe my greatness weakness is that I may not be in Public channels as much as I should be, But I am always trying to work on that everyday.


How would you handle someone making a minor transgression for the first time? – [Example] Someone is flaming on survival which happens many times, I would message the player that is flaming or all people participating in the flame war. To please stop flaming it is against the rules and will not be tolerated if you continue there will be consequences.


How would you handle the same person doing it again a second time? – If the user or users keep flaming I will then Mute each person that would not stop flaming for 5 minutes. I would message everyone that I muted letting them know you would not stop flaming so I muted you for 5 min please stop or there will be more consequences.


How would you handle that person doing it again for the third time? – If they repeated to flame after there mute for 5 minutes wares off. I would then kick them for 10 minutes from the server.


What is your reaction if someone publicly proves you wrong on the forums? – We are all human. It is natural for people to make mistakes. I would apologize for my error and thank them for pointing it out to me. I do not have a problem admitting when I am wrong. I would then correct my mistake and move on.


What would you do when someone breaks a rule on the forums? – If it is not in my section of the forums or it is on a profile I will use the report button to report it and an admin or S-Mod will take it from there. If it is in my sections of the forums though I will report or lock the thread and give out a warning depending on what rule was broken.

Anything else we should know about you? – There has been a big issue about peoples accounts being compromised and I was one of them. I can now assure you that my account is not compromised at all. I have changed my password to my account and to my computer, I always log off Minecraft when I am done playing. I know I cannot expect you to believe me but I only hope you will try. I love McBrawl and I look forward to helping it in every way I can.


Situation: A player is out of the map on MC-WAR. What are the steps that you would take to ensure that this player and situation is properly dealt with? – I would ask them to please re-enter the map if they are not able to I would ask them to do /spawn if they still do not I would then kick them from the server for not listening to my directions. If they do the same thing again I would then kick them from the server for 10 minutes for OOM-Refusing.


Do you generally know how all the plugins and commands work? – I feel like I know most of the commands. Any commands or plugins I do not know I will quickly learn.


Do you realize that if you are disrespectful or abuse your power, your power will be taken away? – I completely understand.

That was my very first application when I knew nothing about the forums or what it took to become a moderator. I feel now though that I am ready for the position.
