Add more precise content rules

I recently had a post removed by Lord_Roke

It contained the text "no ugh" and a gif including a caption which read "the jews did this"

The post was removed being disallowed content, which was defined as:
language, 18+ links, screamers, ect
Since the gif did not include inappropriate language, pornography, a link, or a screamer, it must have fallen under the "etc" category.

If posts are going to be removed for being et cetera, please include a full list of banned content in the server rules. They currently state that there is to be no posting of:

• Another individual’s content
• Memes, or full image posts
• Gore, 18+, or Screamer links
• On old, dead, or resolved threads (Grave Digging / Necro Posting)
• Personal information that you don’t want to be public

None of what I posted was deemed "inappropriate content" by these rules, so please update them to be more specific.

 

While I appreciate the elastic clause, it would be nice to include a brief summary of what "common sense" entails. I made a religious joke for the sake of humor (I'm even jewish myself) because I believed that it would be clear that it was just that, a joke. I trust people not to be offended by comments that are obviously made in the name of humor.

It is unreasonable to assume that I have the same understanding of "common sense" as those who wrote the rules. However I don't believe that I need to, I believe that rule is in place precisely for crowd control; staff can remove any post legally. In my city, peaceful protest is allowed but there are laws to repress peaceful protest anyways. If three people walk abreast on a sidewalk they can be arrested for obstruction. If a person steps in the street that is also illegal. The decision is entirely up to law enforcement wether or not to convict, just as it is up to administration which posts to remove and which not to.

If jokes about religion are always taken so seriously, I would appreciate if that specification would be added to the rules list to avoid any future misunderstanding. The point of this post was not to legalize jokes that apparently offend people, but to state clearly that this humor is not appropriate

The point of this thread, if you care to comment on the thread topic rather than my subjective morality, is to add to the description of rule breaking posts so there are no further misunderstandings.

 

Yes thats great but how the name of Ron Swanson's moustache is "innapropriate/taboo content" any clearer than et cetera
