Learning the CBOW....

I aim the shots and hope that it hits the target. I do not try and spam as it makes me look bad and unskilled. Its your choice but I personally try and go for as many accurate shots as possible without spamming. If you choose to go for precision, play on one in the chamber servers that use bows and you will become a great archer.

I dont really "spam" so much as i try to hit. Everyone knows a hit is a kill, so peeking long enough to shoot someone, then run back to cover is a good strategy. I try to fully charge every time. The time I do spam is usually to make an area deny zone, usually either to ward off a cluster os rushers or to cover myself retreating to a better position. CQC is where the bow fails. You need good aim to really get the best out of the bow. Medium to long range is where the bow shines. As mentioned above, abuse the arching projectile, i have killed people by shooting over walls before, much to their fury (as in walls when you are close, you lightly shoot it over and it lands on the other side, not shooting above a wall from 20 blocks away). Also, try to make every shot count, and switch to pistol if you don't trust yourself to deal with a close up fight. Hope this helps!

Edit: Practicing with it helps the accuracy, dont just spam, slam every shot through a skull!
(and enjoy the AFK kills while you are at it. . .)

These are not tips but the maps where u should use cbow: plaza, hardhat, slums, amrak, sometimes ambush, sometimes scrapyard and courtyard.
Then the rare maps: 2fort, shipment and killhouse(1)

While sniping with the bow is fun, it isn't really that effective. It's best use seems to be suppressing enemies around corners. However, many consider this "spamming" it.

 

I trained with a bow on a multiplayer world and kept fighting my friends until I got used to bow. So practice with some friends. Helped me

 

I'm horrible with the crossbow. Sometimes I try to spam it and be Mlg Pro Skillz but, I fail.

 

While you're at it get me one too lol much appreciated if you do.
