Riot shield

    Hey guys I just wanted to ask about an idea for a riot shield. I did some digging and found some other threads about it. And I think I have a new approach on the subject so keep reading. The riot shield should be able to be placed like in cod. It SHOULD not be used as a weapon though, I think a tactical slot would be the best choice. Anyways, the riot shield is place able as an iron door? It is perfectly capable of making something like this placeable in 1.8 I'm not very sure about specs yet but if the thread gets popular then we'll see...

    How about protection? Can you use it on your back for protection? What does it do? Can everyone pick it up? Does it break?

    However, think about all the glitches and bugs that would come from this. You'd be able to block a lot of entrances, which makes it a lot easier to survive on infected.

    Riot shield is a primary weapon in all occasions and cannot fit into a pocket.

    And the darn ray gun already does that.

    Yet in Minecraft you can carry swords, stacks of rocks, stacks of wood, animal spawn eggs, stacks of obsidian, doors, tnt, leaves, beds, etc. and your pockets are denser than the core of the sun

    Minecraft logic ftw

    No, sorry.
    The door placed will cause LOTS of OOMERs, like putting the door as a block. Also, this will cause glitches because iron doors are used for barriers ATM.
    What about the cost?
    Health hits of shield maybe?
    Certain class setup needed?
    I think we need more details please.

    If it's a door, we could make a mile long door trap by placing them around pressure plates

    That would probably be the only advantage lol

    Doing a riot shield wouldn't be difficult to do really. Just need to retexture a wooden sword and create the stats with the plugin.

    Maybe it could be breakable and slow to turn around so it wouldn't be too OP. A +1 from me.

    i played on this server where the riot shield was a golden sword, and you would block to stop all damage until it died for as however many strikes a golden sword can do. Maybe do this and add an armor stand as a placeable shield that you are able to desroy by punching it? could prevent a lot of op spots

    That would be too op, maybe it could block a few zombie hits in infect. Making it placeable would be too abuseable, so maybe for aiming, if you right click it protects the back of you or something.
