Capital punishment

Well, you are proposing an "idea" for limiting the population, and not speaking about capital punishment in general.

Absolutely not. Other people may say differently over in 'MURICA but here in NZ, we believe in prison. The death penalty is barbaric. What right does the government have to kill people and not get thrown in jail themselves? How do you justify a criminal's death? If they've committed a serious crime, put them in prison for 15+ years of life, depending on the crime. You could also take a page out of Brazil's book and give criminals shorter sentences in return for them using exercise bikes for several hours a day that power the city's electricity.

You could say that if they get out after 15 years, they could get their hands on another gun and kill more people. Well, there's an easy fix to that. Don't let civilians have guns. Sheesh, America.

 

My opinion is that the death penalty is a great choice, if they only did something like murder or kidnapping. Something that will cause you to stay in prison for life. That way, there is no way for the person to escape and live the rest of his life.

I am unable to truthfully answer that question as I have no daughter...
But, it is my current opinion, that that man should be put in prison for the rest of his life. Not killed.

 

Sounds like that one Star Trek episode, except they killed kids for breaking the law too.
Although, I would still love to live on that planet, people make-out in the streets regularly, and the kids too-- ok you know what I'm just gonna stop there.

On topic though, if absolutely necessary, the death penalty may be just IMO, there are some people who just shouldn't be in society.
