So I watch the staff applcation section quite a lot to see the different people who have applied. Every now and then I see applications from people who are obviously going to be denied. People who have only recently joined the community and have around 1-2 forum posts.

A lot of times these applications will actually have quite a few "Yes" votes in the poll. I know that the people who voted for them are probably joking, but it's just wierd.

Does this annoy you guys too or am I just a really serious person? I just think that all staff applications, good or bad, should be treated seriously and shouldn't have "Yes" votes when there shouldn't be any.

The poll isn't really a huge deciding factor of the applicants acceptance/denial, so to me I doesn't really matter.

The pole does have a decent amount of whether or not they get accepted. If 99% of the votes are "No" then obviously the player is lying about something like active ness, maturity or previous records. Also, the "Yes" vote could often be the person's friends, or alternate account on obvious no applications.

Don't pay attention to it. If these people have like 10 posts they're not getting accepted. The poll has almost no say for those kind of applications.

"Obvious no application" That's really ****in stupid, people have different thought on what's good and what's bad.
I don't like this thread in general because some people think that threads are good that other people don't like asshole.

Ryan, you know that there are some people who are going to get denied instantly when they apply. The staff members just will not accept people who only have 1 forum post and have only just joined the community, because it wouldn't be fair to the other people that work really hard in order to get mod.

You can even tell when this is the case because the mods will reply with something like "Thank you for applying, but I don't think that you are ready for this position just yet. Read here to get an idea for what we're looking for." You have to have seen this before, haven't you?

I'm not trying to offend anyone with this thread. I am simply stating that there are people that apply who don't meet the criteria to be a staff member.

I can agree so much with the last part.
Again, its not like it matters. Just like how our vote has really no impact on who is the president of the US. When we go up to vote, we are actually voting for our represenstives (not of house or senate.) I think their is about 2 per state (estimate) who go every election, and they form the electoral college. Really all your vote counts for is trying to get your represenative to elect that president. This is not guarenteed and can come with bias. Just like with moderators.

Well, the U.S. voting system isn't quite like that, but yes, you're right, there are some similarities between the two.
