A while ago people used to be allowed to comment in the "Staff Applications" section of the forums. This gave a chance for not only staff, but the whole community to give their input into a member's application. I feel that many of us old and mature members can help people who want to become staff and give McBrawl a better staff team. I always feel that there is a mistake in an application and I want to the person who made the thread his/or her mistake for their good. You might argue that, "No the community is full of immature children who will just abuse their privileges." No that is not the case all the time. Yes, there is a bad side of the community but there are also many mature people that can help others. I just don't feel that only staff should be able to comment on staff applications but instead the whole community. If there are any major arguments or flame wars the privileges can be easily vetoed. So why not give it a trial?

    Please comment your thoughts below.

Only a selected amount of people should be able to comment on staff applications.
For example, high post count, high positive ratings, etc. We would have to make sure that non-staff commenters are trustworthy and mature. +0 for now, there's a lot of flaws in letting regular players comment on staff applications once again.

This is perfect. If we let the entire Brawl community comment on applications, it would be a disaster.

Not if only mature members of the community are allowed to post on applications.

I like this idea. Maybe if it could be a rank you could apply for and be assigned to reply to staff applications.

I like this. This could be a rank similar to the Wiki Team. No extra permissions, just some sort of tag that shows that you are allowed to comment on applications.

Tac42 had the most positive ratings for a while, yet he pretty much invented SNN.

Exactly why he added "trustworthy and mature." Anyone can gain a ton of positive ratings, but what does that compare to maturity and trustworthiness.

I was going to add a simple rank to apply for to get permission for these threads but you guys already commented them. Let me post them now.

I don't think positive ratings should have anything to do with this. You could have 10 positive ratings and be much more trustworthy and mature than a person with 500 positive ratings.

He said "only mature members can reply", thats a problem because most members on the forums are mature, the staff will be spending a lot of time authorizing certain players while they could be doing something more useful.

Meh, mixed feelings about this. I already discussed this on the last post but I don't think this will be added truthfully.

Most members on the forums are mature? That doesn't mean anything if they're immature in game or on Teamspeak, which isn't a lot of people.

I can see what your trying to say, but we don't even have a clue how popular this will be or how many are eager to apply. Yes a lot of people would be qualified, but how many would be motivated to apply?

Instead there should be a system where everyone gets the permission to reply and if you do something bad on a thread your permission will be revoked. It would be much easier.

This has been brought up before, however I don't believe that the rank idea has been. This brings a completely different perspective to the idea.

This will bring a whole new problem of people saying that they are old members. It would be very hard to pick the right person. Maybe their rank could just simply be "Trusted" if this were going in to play. Maybe retired mods or something else. How would you pick this rank exactly, if they was a certain line you had to cross there would be many 'try-hards' trying to achieve this rank. Being an old member doesn't necessarily mean you will do the right thing. Could be hard desciding this.
