Too many hackusations!

I understand the need that players have to call someone out if they hack, but with some people it gets a bit out of hand. First off, I would like to set some things straight about hacks. Minecraft is a server based game. This means that all data and programming is stored server side. LAN worlds are client based servers, so hacking is much more possible. Because all of the code and programming server side, all data values and default minecraft settings are stored here.

Server side mods include godmode, flyhack, reach hacks, and noclip. They require a response from the server in order to work. Nocheat detects the abnormal information packets they send out, and blocks the illegal activity. There is no way around nocheat, (save breaking into the host and recoding the plugin to make an exception) unless a glitch is discovered that nocheat has not yet patched.

Client side mods include fullbright, wallhack, radar, xray, freecam, etc. They abuse the information that the client receives from the server and display it in unfair ways. This means that the only hacks nocheat is unable to prevent are ones that change your render settings. They are undetectable, and the only way to find them is if you notice strange behavior in a player. Although if you are crouching behind a one block long wall, they will probably see you anyways.

The goal of this thread is to better inform the greater community on the nature and abilities of hackers. It does not matter how good the hacker is; there is no way to hack 1000 hearts via a minecraft client. I am posting this because I see way too many players making false hackusations. I try to give them the short version of why it was not a hack, but they do not listen. There are people who make hackusations literally ever minute *ahem @killahminer ahem* and It would be great if this could be considered spam. I am here to educate the minecraft community, and hopefully make it a better informed, more intelligent group of people who actually know their hackusations when they make them.

EDIT: Xray can be blocked, although it is difficult.

 

Yes but pretty much nothing you can do (save brute forcing the server host and getting into the actual server files) will be able to health hack, or damage hack, or anything like that.

 

It's a compliment when they say it once, but when they say things like godmode, I try to explain it to them and they don't understand. And then beyond that there are people like killahminer who hackuse people literally every 70 seconds. Sir_Blockalots knows what I'm talking about.

 

Yes, well everyone gets accused of hacking at some point, but that isn't the objective of this thread. This is to further educate the greater community of the forums on the finer points of what can and cannot be done with a hacked client.
