    Herreooooo. Oh goodies, I made a thread. So, as some of you, CSGO players know, the game has skins (purely cosmetic), and of course, the weapon durability system (Field-tested, factory new, etc.), and while this may seem like a nuisance, I think this would be a neat addition, making it more like the actual CSGO.
    As for the skins, we could either have:
    -Unused item textures (very few of them, however, I think that 1 of each weapon class could have at least a single reskin, including the knife, making it around 5 reskins). In terms of items, I think these should be possible to get via Cases/Chroma crates (as in CSGO), or as random/achievement drops in certain occasions.
    List of reskins:
    AK47 "Red-Line"
    AWP "Asiimov"
    Desert Eagle "Pilot"
    MP7 "Urban Hazard"
    Nova "Koi"
    Knife "Doppler"
    M4A4 "Desert Strike"

    Now, these reskins are the maximum we can have, and I did in-depth research on the way we can replicate them.
    Now, the durability would deplete over the time, but it would have no visual effect on the weapon. It would get depleted from the amount of the damage a player has taken, from the amount of shots fired, etc.
    Now the keys to crates could be obtained in a few ways:
    -Vote for the server (approx. 100 vote tokens).
    -Find it (has a random chance of player finding it after the round is over)
    -Earn it by planting or defusing a bomb and by saving a hostage about 5-20 times. Basically, by playing the objective.

    Now, there could be the name tags as well, except the difference is that it wouldn't show publicly. Could be found like the key.

    Wouldn't it remove the purpose of custom resource packs and would I have to accept the server-side resource pack to be even able to play? I know this thread is still WIP But I'll give it a +0 for now.

    While I can understand your argument, I feel like the server is going to die because of the lack of attention it receives. We would either have to add new game modes (out of which only 1 is fun to play), or new maps, which while isn't too boring, gets quite repetitive. However, adding a cosmetic system would make the game a bit more about the skill and objective play - the first good players would actually be noticed. In my honest opinion, I do indeed see certain flaws that I was unable to fix in the idea as of whole.
    Well, what do you suggest to make the server more popular then, but still keeping it as true to CSGO as possible?

    I like this idea, and I do feel that minestrike is going downhill because of the lack of stats, goals (like levels or kill counters), and several basic aspects of counter strike that are not included. There would have to be an xp counter or a way to earn credits to be able to get the skins as well. Overall, +1.

    You can't really have a "skin for a gun" in Minecraft. You can easily make a texture pack to look like those skins.
