Infected: Changes

    Hello Fancy Cats!
    A lot of us really enjoy infected. However, for a handful of us, it is a dread. A lot of things are really unbalanced in the game mode, making alive players OP and rendering the infected useless. Brawl has very few maps that the infected actually have a chance on winning, and I am here to explain why.

    There are very few maps the Infected actually have the capability to win. What do all those maps have in common? Most of them are flat. A lot of time, alive players perch themselves on high points, and spam down below making it nearly impossible for the infected to reach them. I think one change that could be made it to add new maps to the Infected rotation, and remove a few of the current ones. Infected can easily be comparable to boosting. Players simply stand still and fire away, creating an easy way to get kills. I think this should be fixed.

    Now, here is a short list of items I feel should be changed in order to make Infected more enjoyable for everyone:
    - OP Weapons to be removed/limited. What is everyone's favorite choice of weapon for infected? Either the ray gun or the crossbow. Anyone who has this weapon equipped (and scavenger perk) is set for life, and almost guaranteed to win.
    - Infected to be given a perk. Apart from the alive players being over powered, I feel the infected are also under powered. I feel one way we can fix this is by giving the infected player a perk, such as speed. This way they have the ability to catch the alive.
    - New map rotation. As I mentioned early, I feel we need flatter maps that give the infected a chance to win.
    - OOMERS. Enough said. Too many games where the winner is someone that jumped out of the map, and usually, there is no mod to help assist with the problem.

    If you have any other suggestions, let me know! Infected is a classic game mode which is fun for a lot of people. Unfortunately right now, it is extremely unbalanced.

    This is really well thought out and I think it should be set into place. I rarely ever play War but when I did, one time we had four infected games in a row and we lost twelve players. People don't like infected because donators do have an unfair advantage, just spamming the Raygun or any other donator weapon. But I'm glad someone came u with a great idea to fix this. Great job man

    My opinion:

    OP weapons.
    These are in the game to compensate for the fact that zombies can get an emp in 5 kills (place a c4 under a small spot). I agree that ray can get a little bit unbearable, but you have to live with it.

    Infect to be given a perk.
    Infected already have speed. or did they change that? idk. but about perks themselves: they are bought, players that like inf can buy them. yes, it is kinda PAY2WIN but it will stay like that until EULA (is it cancelled or something?)

    also: many perks are bugged, flak jacket doesn't do a damn thing. and juggernaut doesn't work as it should (you still take almost full damage from some guns). this should be fixed.

    New map rotation.
    I can agree with this one. some maps such just have to much spots high up that are impossible to be reached when there is a ray gun on it.

    OOMERS.
    The only real way to fix this is to get them banned by reporting them. I am sure that you know where to and how to.
    if not: PM a staff member.

    The coders can also reduce the knockback of the guns. But i am not sure how much the coders can reduce it. it may be impossible to reduce it to the point that there still IS knockback and is not able to shoot you OOM.

    +0. The op player maps compensate for the op zombie maps. One team always has to win, so they made it equal: some maps are easy for zombies, some for humans.
    However, this was well thought out and may be a change once priorities are set and done. For example, this idea may only be put in effect after 2.0 (in other words, #soon).

    This problem could be fixed in ONE day. Building better maps IS the only way this problem will go.

    You do realise that most of the time people getting OOM is due to the gun glitch?
    if we would fix maps by rebuilding them, we need to make every spot where it is possible to go out of map about a blocks higher (I'd say at 3 blocks high it is impossible to go out) however this will be time consuming due to the amount of maps where it is possible and the amount of spots to go OOM.

    It is takes work to make maps. It takes work to fix a map. Work takes time and we have all the time in the world. Plenty of people would volunteer (myself included) to fix these maps. Time is not the issue, management is. If maps were made correctly, publicly tested, and patched before they reached to mass servers there would be no problems. Me saying this will change nothing, but it is the truth.

    I'm pretty sure zombies get speed I for the entire round, though it might be a good idea to let them change perks in the middle of a round.

    that is possible, but they are glitched and are actually visible right? or we just use the barrier blocks

    Hmm i see where your getting at, however infected is kind of balanced normally. Infected get 3x xp and credits each kill and they have 1 punch kill. The amount of infected games where someone has emped from getting to blue spawn and killing afk's is overly OP.
    I think i'm gonna go for -1 :frowning:

    I have mixed feelings about this. I completely agree about oomers, and the easiest way to get rid of them is to screenshot and report. I do disagree about "OP Players & Guns", especially the ones that you mentioned. People have payed for those guns, and what would be the point in buying them if you didn't have a slight advantage? The infected do have a slight advantage also. All it takes is one EMP and most of the non-infected are wiped out. Just my take on this topic, feel free to reply if you have anything I missed or was incorrect on.

    Invisible iron doors FTW ? I know there is invisible walls which can't be bypassed for sure though.

    The invisible walls is just a clear block called a "barrier". It is impossible to bypass because it is a real block not a plugin.
