I'd say the the first link build would be better, but I'm not an expert.
I'd ask @D3RGPS31 or @yinscape about these things.

The video card is better on the second one but overall, the first link would be your best choice, also what OS are you going to run... make sure its a 64 bit if you want to be able to use all 8gb of ram!

Most games will run fine on your first link, and everything will start much faster with the SSD, however, if you intend to play at higher resolutions and don't really care how fast things load and start up, the 2nd choice would be better.

    ok, I suggest this:
stick with the i5 processor because it is god (get i7 if you can afford it)
    get an nvidia gpu
get an SSD, but it's your choice

Here is what I would get- Get the first one, but use the stock cooler, then replace the 840 evo with a cheaper one like a crucial bx100, it will still be blazing fast, Then use the extra money for the 290. This will be the best of all worlds, as you can still do a lot of cpu based things well, and even better than the i5 in some applications, the 290 is the 290, and the ssd is a really worthwhile investment

The fx is still amazing, and does even better than i5s in multi threaded applications, but I will admit they are no chance against the i7s, except for the 9590.
Both of you are wrong about the nvidia cards, amd cards are still great, and the recent price drops make the price to performance insane
