Erosion: Modern Warfare 3 Face Off Map



So i am a great fan of Modern Warfare 3. And Erosion is one of my favorite maps. So i started to do a remake of it just for fun, before i remembered about this server and throught to submit it.

This map is a FULL remake. Every sniping position and every camping spot is redone in this map. With great accuracy of gameplay and visuals. The image above is a representation of the map icon in the lobby when players are supposted to vote the next map (in cause you guys did not notice)



This map has been built by having Modern Warfare 3 and Minecraft opened at the same time constantly changing the windows using Alt-Tab.
I don't have a very powerful computer and sometimes it was very challanging to get the game to run smoothly for me to build.


Okay so enough about myself. I'll give you mods and players some additional information about this map.
It has been built in a flat world with desert biome. If you are planning on copy-pasting it on your server, please remember to use the desert biome, or the leafs and grass will not look as they are supposted to be.

Also the map folder might have some mods files & folders inside it because the map has been built on my modpack (used the WorldEdit mod to work faster) but don't worry. The map does NOT contain any blocks or items from any mods. The map is completely vanilla and does not require any additional mods for it to work or look correctly (Not even shaders. Just used them in screenshots for it to look good)

There are some big enviromental constructions around the playable area of the map. Like the volcano from the image below. This map requires a minimum of 12 chunks render distance to load all the map details from the center of the map at once. Of course, this is completely obtional.



There might be only 1 problem... okay maybe 2
Because of the size of the actual blocks from minecraft i could not copy the gameplay EXACTLY. There might be a few spots (2 founded so far) where players can hide/camp that in the original map could not.
But they do not affect the gameplay as much as it sounds really. Just test the map and see for yourselfs.

And the secound problem is the Map Size. This is a Face Off map and its designed for 3v3 players maximum. So this is the only reason i can see this map not beeing accepted. If more than 20 players join this map, everything is goin to turn into a killzone and will be quite impossible to play.

And on top of that, this isen't really designed for Infection Gamemode. From what i've played on your server, i can see that Infected is one of the most played gamemodes. So i'm afraid that Infection matches are not that intense in this map. The only spot where survivors can hide is the house in the middle of the map. So all the players are going to stack up on that wooden platform in the middle and shoot every zombie that comes towards them from the windows.



Please give any feedback you can. I would be glad to see what you guys think about this.
And now that i (hopefully) answeared all of your questions, its time i put one.

What should i do next?

I would happely start another project. Maybe a biger map this time. I can recreate any map from Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 2. I brouht theese two games already. Ghosts will be coming soon. If you guys have a map that you would like to add to the server from one of theese two games please let me know, and i will try to make them even better from all of your feedback posted here.
Oh and another thing. No DLCs. I do not own any DLC from any of theese two CoD games. The only BONUS MAPS i can recreate from Modern Warfare 3 is Terminal and Erosion. Please no Aground. I can already tell you i will not be able to recreate Aground.

I did not know this map was already added. I don't feel sorry for posting it through, i loved building it.

Waiting for another map suggestion. You guys know better which maps are added on the server already and what maps aren't. So you guys give me ideeas for my next map remake and i'll credit you in the thread when i finish it

And yeah. From the screenshot of the current version of the Erosion map i do belive that my map looks better. I can't say anything about the gameplay through.

 

Yeah i guess so. But then again, the map was designed for 3v3 matches. Its hard to dominate the whole map with only 3 men.

From the list of the maps from the server, the only maps that have not been done so far from cod are
Bakaara , Resistance and Mission which are awesome maps and i would love to build them.
Of course, i have lots of ideeas of new maps and i could create new ones as good as thoes from CoD but from what i read and saw so far, they are accepting only maps from Call of Duty games.

Thanks for offering your help but the thing i enjoy the most at minecraft is building alone. If i'm going to create a map, i'll do it alone.
If you wanna help through give me an ideea of what my next map should be.

I'm kinda thinking about Resistance. Its one of my favorite maps from Modern Warfare 3. It would be really fun to play on the war server.

 

Thinking about Mission or Bakarra. Interchange is quite random and ugly and small in my opinion.
