    Hi Brawlers,

So today, @Striker_Sly and I had a conversation about the Helper rank and talked about our denied staff application and how it was unfair. No one commented on Striker's, he just got denied, and only one moderator commented on mine, saying that I could "handle the position," and I got denied also.

Here is our idea: All Super-Mods need to comment on staff applications (if they are genuine, not someone who just came on the forums asking for mod). This way, we can know the exact reason of getting denied.

Let me know what you guys think.

Or maybe you can just PM or ask a staff member the reason of you being denied.

All Super-Mods are required to comment on staff applicatons? No Way. They're all busy with their different jobs I presume, and some of them will be more brutal than others, some will accept anything that is more than 500+ words. It's too easy just to say all SMODs must comment. If this were to happen, the staff would have to nominate one, maybe 2, members of the team to handle staff applications. I've not been here for a while, this may already be the case.

And how do you determine between which applications require a comment and which do not? Are we looking at a post count to determine? It's been stated in the past that a post count is not a true representation of how active a member of the community is, so do you have any other ideas?

They don't have to give a reason for being demoted. It's about questioning power. If they think that you aren't ready, they will deny you. That is enough already for you to go out and become more active, and improve on any areas even if you think you are strong in them. Wasting your time questioning why you were denied, and making staff give you an answer is kind of pointless. Btw i think i know why you were denied, I have some screenies of you being disrespectful in chat. PM me if you wan't to see them.

They tell us not to give up. But when we are denied without a reason then how will we know what to improve on? If I played a sport and my coach constantly got mad at me but never told me what I'm in the wrong for, how will I be able to make him/her happy? It's the same situation. I was denied without a reply. I recently thought of reapplying, or waiting to apply for helper but I've hit the stump: if I was denied last time, what makes me think I won't be this time? We were never told that we are expected to realize what we are in the wrong for; however that would make sense to an extent. For players like me, I believe I could increase my TS activity - and I have since my application, but I was never told that was the problem, because I'll never truly know what exactly the problem is. It's a problem with communication, that's all, and taking 5 minutes to read and respond to an application shouldn't take too much time off their hands.

@Striker_Sly They tell us what we need to do to become staff. Be active on forums, TS, and ingame. Also be respectful and mature. When you got denied, that was when you where spam posting those lord_roke threads. It was a sign of immaturity so they denied you.

I feel like denied applicants have a right to know why they got denied, but s-mods shouldn't be dragged into it. The application should have at least a few replies explaining where the player can improve before being denied.

Applying isn't like a sport, it's like applying for a job. You aren't told what to do, you just do it.

This. Perhaps ALL smods would be restricted. However there should be at least a protocol so everyone can get a reply.
Do what? If you don't know what to do, how can you do it? I applied for a job this Summer, and they told me what they are looking for...?

The applicant can just be told why they're denied by an administrator in a PM, and there is no real need to drag Super Mods into this.

I understand that, but when I feel I've met most of the material I want to know the reason I was denied and what to improve on. There's no hard feelings towards anyone, I was just upset at myself that day.

I suggested this a while back, except I said that a staff application shouldn't be able to be denied if nobody has commented on it yet.

Maybe make it so that when somebody is denied, they automatically get a PM telling them what they did wrong and why they were denied? Is this possible?

I agree. However my app has already been said and done, so I guess I have to try again! I want to know when Helper rank comes out because I want that first for more experience

I have to disagree, I am not 100% sure of this or not, but the Super Mods barely do anything on the forums. They don't need to watch over the forum categories because the regulars mods have that in charge. They need to do something.

    1. This was recent, I applied for mod in February.
    2. That is how I joke around with my friends, do you have a problem with that?

    (No flame please)
