This is my middle school jazz band. I'm the 3rd person from the right on the line of saxophones.

The style for the first one wasn't what I would have liked. Swung more and a little faster. I know the song, and the "chorus" of it just doesn't sound right. Right at 0:50, the trumpets should swing more, and speed it up, maybe 3-5 bpm. Also, has your teacher talked to you about back accent at all? If you guys got that down, it'd be REALLY good.

Other than that, it was really good.

I freaking wish my school was good enough to do that. We have 2 people from All State in my band but the other players just don't practice ever. They legitimately don't deny anyone from the band. It's awful.

Sounds a lot like my school's band. The graduation requirements include 1 fine arts credit, and a lot of people just take band to get it over with. Over half the band never takes their instruments from the band room.

@TurtleBoss I really like how well the band stays together and for the most part flourishes the melody despite the section that is playing it. A lot of bands have a problem with drowning out the melody when it switches to low brass.

The thing is, jazz isn't even required at our school. The people just aren't good. Our trombone section, which has like 7 people, could be outplayed in terms of volume by a single trombone, assuming they play correctly.

Pretty good, though my band is better :stuck_out_tongue:
Needs more swing and needs to be faster, especially from the trumpets. The trumpets also didn't really blend well with the rest of the band

I'm in a middle school jazz band myself, and, not trying to sound like a douche here, but I am one of the best members in my band (playing trumpet, which is why I have more things to say about trumpets.)
