As you can see by the title, I'm building a PC for my 16th birthday. My budget is 1600-1700 dollars, and I have already made one http://pcpartpicker.com/p/phTp4D.

If anyone has any better idea of what I should do for my parts, please tell me. Thanks!

This is likely the best setup right now at that pricepoint. The only thing i would recommend is the nzxt h440, it is much better than the source 530

What do you plan to store on your SSD? 500GB seems a little overkill and they are dropping price right now. I would personally go for 2TB HDD and a 250GB SSD.

I would beef up the PSU, but other wise it looks good.
    Don't forget the thermal paste!

With this setup, he shouldn't need a beefier PSU. The 980 is insanely efficient, and the i7 is not that power hungry either. If he was using SLI/crossfire, then a beefier psu would be necessary, but this shouldn't break 350 watts

PCPartPicker estimates the build to use 102W - 381W, but a 500W power supply is technically enough.

Well, in my experience, a D3 core is better than an intel i7 core. I would also recommend getting an Ultimate Yinscape Cooler. We know from having one that nothing puts out virtual fires better. Other than that, looking good. :V

Alright, I added 50 more watts to the power supply and switched to a 2 TB hard drive and 250 GB SSD. Thank you guys for your inputs.

500 watts seems like enough. Buy the best video/graphics card you can afford.

PM me if you have questions I've built a couple of computers.
