Faster sniper bullets.

The damage will not be nerfed. That has already been declared by chickenputty. Increasing the bullet speed would only serve to bother everyone but the people who can't already use the gun, op as it is. Nothing will be resolved here, and it's not even the right section of the forums. It should be in the server ideas section. (wink wink mods :V)

 

I mean, if they make the bullet faster, they should nerf the damage to balance it. Think of it: Instant bullets and 2 hit kill....

As long as sniper bullets are faster than auto, etc. bullets, then it's fair.

 

They will not nerf the damage. This has already been established. The shot speed will not be buffed. Mods, please either move this thread to Server Ideas or lock.

 

I agree, I mean to keep the bullet physics accurate from CoD, they bullets need to be the second fastest behind the Disassembler. I bet many kids will rage about this though or maybe use snipers more. Oh god I can see it now... *joins game* everyone is using Isolator! xD

 

They ARE the fastest. Unless there is a massive server wide uproar about the bullet speed, nothing will be changed.

People, its freaking minecraft not COD ( I know its a Cod based server but... You know what i mean ) Snowballs can only be edited by a mod i think.

 

They can only be edited by the owners, who have direct access to the pvpguns++ config.

Lies. The plugin Crackshot can edit snowball speeds. Also, PvPGunPlus has an option to increase or decrease bullet speed.

 

if you can't side step bullets then its easier to kill people so everyone will die in a matter of milliseconds so that would really make lots of people rage. why would you change something that isn't broken? If you make it go fast lvl 35 and under will kill everyone easily and it would be like the old barret all over again! lvl 36 and over people will complain that they got sniped and didn't even see the bullet on a 20 kill streak. If its not broken don't fix it!

 

I think this is an amazing idea. First off, it would not only make it impossible to step AWAY from already-shot sniper bullet, but it could eliminate the possibly of unrealistically stepping IN to an already-shot sniper bullet. Along with this, it would make it much harder for the snipers in game, as they rely on the bullet's slow speeds to catch people as they come out from cover. It would make a sniper more like an actual sniper, rather than a combat rifle.

EDIT: Also, in the plugin CrackShot, Shampaggon uses a large burst of speed to initially shoot the bullet out the gun once, while I think orange451 constantly applies a specified speed to the bullet, so it travels straight. And although speed may seem cool, if a snowball flies faster than 40 blocks per second, the snowball will appear as if it will be going off in a random direction rather than straight. Of course the bullet still actually does hit it's mark, it may prove annoying to snipers when trying to judge how far off they were from the target.

 

When your playing on a server with lots of people and there are snowballs flying around any faster than they are that causes some HEAVY lag.

Not sure if this is entirely necessary. The ISO is already OP as it is. Making it faster would only want me to kill myself faster >.> I say leave it as it is.

 

The snowball's velocity is just pumped up. Should be simple...
