Hello, and thank you for having us. You may or may not of had heard about us coming, but here's the link explaining what's happening. MCPVP is shutting down, and Brawl will be taking over Hunger Games, Capture the Flag, and Build servers. As a result, these gamemodes will be transfered to Brawl. I've been playing the gamemode, CTF, for over two years. There has been lots of things that had happened to CTF and MCPVP as a whole over the course of these two years, and MCPVP has now ended.

I'll speak up for some of us saying that I'm glad we're over with MCPVP. MCPVP was terrible at times, and most of us only stayed there because of the gamemodes they had, not because of the Staff or quality of the servers. I truly am happy that we're now in the hands of Brawl, but I'll also say that it's quite sad to see MCPVP die right in front of us. Hopefully the gamemodes Brawl has acquired will be put back to good use. But now let me talk about the gamemode I've loved, CTF.

Capture the Flag is a gamemode where two teams (red against blue) steal their enemy's flags and return it back to their flag to 'capture' it. You cannot capture the flag if the enemy has stolen your team's flag. You are able 'recover' the flag by killing the enemy player with the flag and picking it up. Then, the person who has the flag is able to capture it. The objective is to capture a set amount of flags (different amount depending on the map) within the span of 20 minutes and beat the opponent team. You as the player will be able to choose out of a total of 11 classes (4 free, 7 premium), all with different abilities and gear. But that's an overall summary of it, it's a little more than just that.

I'm not going to talk much about the CTF community. Most of us have had our share of fun over here already in here. We're a bunch of jokers, to say the least. We've got a dumb sense of humor at times and we goof off a lot when it's asked for, and I hope you can tolerate that for the time being. We talk seriously about CTF and what we can hope to ask for to help the gamemode. It's like any other community. Some of us are more obnoxious and annoying than others, and some of us are more mature and informative. We've got a good spread of personalities, but I assure you, most of us won't bother with the other gamemodes Brawl has.

The little game communities within MCPVP didn't interact much with the other ones. CTF had no reason to do anything with HG, and HG was the same way towards CTF. We might've had a little fun in calling them weenies, but we've never seriously delved into the other gamemodes' space. We've created our own little bubble, so to speak. When we play MCPVP, we interact with our respective gamemode's community only. CTFers wouldn't play with HGers, and vice versa. That might make sense to you, but the MCPVP community essentially was formed by many small communities. The CTF, HG, or Sabotage communities together would create 'MCPVP community', but in reality, we weren't in it as one. I don't know about the Brawl gamemode communities, but I'm sure it will be kept the same way as it has been with CTF and HG.

There's one more thing I want to talk about, and that is: updates. Updates to CTF, that is. CTF was generally neglected so to speak when it came down to updating. HG was the gamemode that had the most players and made the most money, while CTF was the gamemode that had the second most players and made the third most money, which even those numbers could barely compare to HG at all. MCPVP wasn't all that popular, and I'm sure they tried their best to keep getting revenue the best they could, so they focused a lot on HG rather than the other gamemodes. Every month or so they'd get a new kit to play with and any necessary tweaks and updates, while CTF received no updates. We lived with that. After a while, we weren't getting updates at all. It was normal. For over half a year, we received no updates when we knew we needed to fix some things up. It wasn't only until recently a few months back that we had gotten a well received update, and we were happy with that. We started getting more small updates after that, as well.

But now that MCPVP is dead, I'm sure most of us know that we won't be getting updates ASAP. Brawl has its own thing to do, and I'm pretty sure they won't update anything major without getting to know the gamemode. We will hopefully respect the decision you guys will make about our gamemode, but if there's one thing we don't want you to do, it's to neglect us like MCPVP. This may seem selfish, but CTF is a gamemode that has had a lot of problems and still does, and the problems aren't fixed without updates. We don't want CTF to fall down because of the problems we know about but are unable to fix. Plz.

I may be wrong about everything I thought about in this post, but that's okay. It's my thoughts. If you're reading this and you're not an MCPVP migrater, thank you for reading this. I hope you'll accept us and our gamemode into Brawl.

    An interesting story to hear.
I'm pretty sure I have played on the server (CTF) at least once, or it could had been another server with that game mode. It had a map from Halo, Beaver.

Well, in terms of giving you answers - Brawl's communities are kind of a mess. War's community has the youngest players, WarZ's community usually is easy to interact with, PvP's community is extremely friendly, communities for our SG servers are kind. The rest of the servers don't have a permanent playerbase, but a "flow of fishes", so to say - players join, there's a lot of them, but then they go away. Creative is the most in-depth community, that is difficult to explain without going into detail.

    TL;DR
People from various communities in our server play different game modes, not just the base one.

I looveee playing CTF, but I could never find a server with CTF. I'm excited to hear that Brawl is CTF. This thread is very interesting, I hope to play CTF with other MC PvP players!
