Hello and welcome new mcpvp players, coming from a server that I really used to like, I think this guide may help you.

Lets start off with gamemodes, shall we?

    MCWar:
Level up by killing opponents, and use credits to purchase guns.
Many different maps and styles of guns, as well as donator perks.
Personally not my favorite gamemode, still very fun, though.
You may find yourself dying a lot at the beginning, and as a tip, go for headshots with the l118a. It is a 1 hit kill. Thats only for the starting guns though, level up to get better ones, and figure out your playstyle from there.
Sorry, Don't know to much about war, any war fanatics @iWish @Scoat2 @BrawlerAce please correct me :stuck_out_tongue:

    MCWarZ:
    Personally my favorite gamemode.
Inspired by the Arma 2 mod, DayZ, you start in the south and loot up and work your way into higher zones.
Zone 1 is the worst, and Zone 6 is the best.
Beware, you will find many MVP's/VIP's Using something called combo-ing, probably using the infamous Sniper-Shotgun Combo. MSG Me for more details about this gamemode, I could go on forever.
Also, beware, It is very competitive, and people rage often.

    Minecraft Party:
Based off of Mario Party, there are many different fun gamemodes, including Musical Minecarts (Musical Chairs), Spleef, And Dead End (If you've played mineplex, its like Runner.) VIP Gets double coins (I believe). You may buy special items for gamemodes in the buy menu.

    Creative:
    You build stuff. Plot world.
    Enough said, xD

    Survival PVP:
I think many of the MCPVP'ers may really like this gamemode.
Its essentially factions without claiming, and, guess what?
    It uses soup.
I don't play this often, so I don't know much about it.
@bassmaster6 tell me stuff to add xD

    Minestrike:
One of the less popular, but still very fun gamemodes is Minestrike.
There was a competitive tournament (In which my team got 2nd :L) that was essentially CS:GO.
This entire gamemode is CS:GO, actually, but there is no spray control, you can't sprint, and you can't aim in with guns (Few exceptions.) Be sure to shift to be more accurate.

    SG w/ Guns:
I think this used to be a lot better, but then it got changed. I don't know much about the newer version, but its essentially what it sounds like,
    Survival games with guns.

    SG:
Its Survival games, what do you think this is...?

    Skywars:
    Last, but definitely not least.
    Its survival games, kinda.
You start out on a small island, and you have to bridge over to other players' islands or bridge to the center to get more loot.
Beware, sponges still allow you to take fall damage (MLG Water is a good counter) and people can knock you off with bows and snowballs while you're bridging!

Now, lets talk a bit about the community.

The community, a while back, around June, was incredibly horrible. They ddosed, and some people still do. Many people, Including me, have been a victim of ddos.
There are many old rants about this, and I don't think I need to explain more about the ddos.
    Now for the staff.
Staff used to be incredibly lazy (No offense, <3), but now works incredibly hard, hosts events, etc. Staff has had a major improvement over the last few months.
And for the players in the community, they are (mostly) extremely nice, and won't give you a bad time. If you're on warz though, you will probably see lots of "eZ, get good kid," etc. Few people actually say "GG, GF," etc.

I don't have much else to add, if anyone wants to add something, feel free to say it in the comments below.
I will most likely add it in.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Hopefully the MCPVP community will fit right in.

Survival PvP is actually nearly the exact same game as a server called Raid that MCPVP used to have, so most McPvPers will probably be fine there (and you'll get a solid boost to the playerbase on that server).

Headshots are often random, meaning they aren't always to the head. Also, depending on the person's playstyle, they may/may not like snipers. Just a heads up

Great guide though, should clear up many things for players.

Headshots are based on y axis.
But its glitchy so basically shooting someone anywhere on the body, like the toe = headshot xD
