Only answer this if you've used both :stuck_out_tongue:

Am I right to assume we are currently using Xenforo?
Because I like this better, it actually formats properly on my phone.

    i like both really.
i feel Discourse was sort of easier to navigate around the forums and such, but Xenforo just seems overall cleaner and it much easier for formatting. so i choose Xenforo, but if there was a choose i wold have gone with i feel the same about both.

    Is Discourse what MCPVP had?
If so, I prefer Xenforo. It's much easier to navigate through.

Yeah, it is. But Discourse takes some getting used to.

Yeah, I noticed while going through Discourse that it was troublesome to find certain topics. It was also annoying that I would have to log in every time I wanted to browse the forums.

I never had that either, weird.

Did you checkmark 'keep me logged in'? :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: ew, the tongue sticking out emoticon isn't even a nice colour pink, it's, like, ugly pink.

I like this MUCH better, Discourse was horrible when it came to formatting and viewing on mobile. Also we are lucky that Brawl took us under its wings. We should respect that and keep the forums that the Brawl regulars are used to.

one thing about Xenforo is I don't think I can like posts on my mobile.
and only on some topics. on some topics i can like and stuff like that, but on some other posts I can't like the thread or posts.

The ratings seem to exist in the relevant parts of the forums, and not in the off topic sections.

I guess it's to stop like farms.

Considering Discourse was used on MCPVP, the software didn't look as well organized/formatted as Xenforo.

You better not change from XF.

That is the exact reason we don't have ratings enabled here. They used to be enabled, but like farms (as you said) ruined it for everyone.

Discourse was slightly cleaner on mobile, but only because it was incredibly restrictive.

I like this formatting better, it's slick, especially in dark mode.

Like farmers ruin the land they sow, man.

Brawl has a policy against like/rating farming.

I feel that Discourse was a lot more modern and had more customization to it, when one mastered formatting threads looked beautiful. I've yet to master the new forums but I feel like what we have is fairly limited.

After using discourse for a while I got used to it, but these forums are similar to YAF so I'll readjust.

Being someone who has used a lot of types of forums, Xenforo has always been great for me. Discourse to me is fine except sometimes it feels messy (But that's just me). None the less, Xenforo has lots of add-ons and stuff which is great. The only thing I dislike about Xenforo is the messy set up of options. There are a lot of options via bb-code and the upper button things (Yes, this is scientific terminology. Get over it :3) except they truly are hard to find sometimes.

One advantage Discourse seems to have is a more flexible search engine.
