So, Im from MCPVP and we had a different staff system there. After reading some responses to different posts, I found out that Mods cant ban hackers on the spot, and to me that is something new and weird in a way. So I was wondering what roles each staff position has. And what the point of Mods is if they cant ban hackers in game.

"Mod" - Moderator is a staff member, who's primary role is to Moderate the in-game chat. Other duties, such as participating in staff discussions, come afterwards.

You see, mods get access to certain commands most players don't have.

This is a silly thing to do though. Adding the option to ban people would be a great plus for a mod. Also, a Mod is NOT to moderate the chat. That is a Chat Mod. If anything put current mods as chat mods and then those that are trustworthy to give the permission to ban players.

    (ps: how3quote)
    (edit: Nvm found out how)

It's easier to have just one type of mod; having multiple types of mods besides super mod is unnecessary. I wouldn't say give trial mods this privilege; maybe global mods.

P.S. Mods do have the ability to ban players. They just aren't allowed to ban them on the spot.

On MCPVP you had Chat Mods to moderate chat, we define the role of Moderators differently.

*Ability to temp ban for up to 60 minutes.

They are be able to ban a hacker for 60 minutes?
Because when you are in a HG game and a hacker is hacking, it would be a great thing to get him out of that game.
And they will receive a permanently ban after a S-moderator saw their proof? Right?
If they are be able to tempban (60 min) that is an awesome thing! Players can't be falsely banned by a moderator.

Funny thing that they can do that, yet I've msg'ed a mod yesterday when there was 2 hackers on kit brawl. They didn't even bother responding or checking them out.

What is stupid though a Mod is fighting a hacker. They see the hacks but do nothing about it. I was fighting a hacker and I walked away a mod starts fighting him and yes clearly sees hacks. Nothing is done though so I continue to keep fighting the hacker.

The mod was most likely recording at the time and reported the player. Mods are allowed to ban for an hour if and only if it's certain hacks, and nothing else such as lag/actual skill.

As @Kauww said, Super-Mods are allowed to ban players... think of Brawl like Raid, most of the mods on there were chat mods, because there weren't a ton of hackers that were reported on there, and thus there was no need to have mods patrolling the server.

On Brawl, they also have an optimized version of /report and have a place where you can send videos, like on our old cheater-report page, it's not necessarily a bad thing. Just a different thing.
