Normally, to have a preview of a minecraft world I would do /seed and use a world viewing tool. Since /seed isn't available to us for the necessary reasons, I think that having a preview of the entire map would be greatly appreciated. This would be useful when looking for a specific biome, structures and/or slime chunks. I'm not sure how easy this would be to pull off but I think it would be greatly appreciated in the end.

There's this thing called exploring and writing coordinates on paper.

Yeah, I don't really see the point in this. It'd mean exploring would be pretty much useless.

That is too time consuming and finding a slime chunk is impossible that way.
    The sass isn't needed :v

This doesn't mean exploring can't be done. It is just a tool to make things easier for those who want it. I have spent countless hours looking for a jungle biome and I am still looking for one. Exploring randomly around a 16 000x 16 000 block map isn't very fun for long.

Whilst exploring could be done, there's no point to it. It'd be like giving everyone full diamond armour with prot 10 at the start of every SG, it doesn't have to be used but it'd give you a massive disadvantage.

Like everyone else said, you need to explore. Also if it was a live map then you could see people's bases that are not underground.

What says that exploring can't be done? It could be used be everyone so technically it's not an advantage. Also, slime chunks are still hard to find. Even a map showing slime chunks would be beneficial. Slimes are extremely hard to find and are important in crafting various items.

I understand this. But if a selection of screenshots were available and still displayed the same information, people would be safe. I don't know if its possible to do this but I'm just wondering.

How would it give me a disadvantage? It saves time. That was the point of this idea. I see that people are uninterested so never mind :stuck_out_tongue:

I thought about this too. I dont think /seed would give bases away, it would just have the raw world if you created it in single player. It wouldnt even have spawn on it either. The most you could do is find like all the guardian temples (which is still time consuming), find biomes, find slime chunks, and probably find some spawners and write down the cords but all that isnt really a big deal the server is already getting worse as the days go on. Problems = Pvp logging, extreme lag during pvp, spawn being 3-4 blocks high, horrible server hit detection, and 1.8 in general.

Point is, there is not really any major issues with being able to do /seed

/seed could be used to find player's locations through world tools such as admist. If you have the world open and the seed loaded on the map, it will show all player locations. I think an easy solution to this would be to have screen shots or something of the map. I'm not sure if that's possible tho. Glad to see you agree with me tho :grinning:
